So I finished Carnivale
... oh come ON, show! Seriously?!
I ... I don't know how to feel about it! So much awesome and so much "do not want"! All in one package!
The last half of season two was almost completely awesome, in fact, and FINALLY started delivering everything I wanted from the show.
And then there was the ending. GAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
THE LAST TEN MINUTES NEVER HAPPENED LA LA LA ~*DENIAL*~
Because, seriously, the last half of season two kicked ass! Finally, FINALLY this is what I've wanted from the show all along -- the characters pulling together and being good to each other and having so many awesome little moments (especially Jonesy, oh Jonesy, and Jonesy and Libby, and Jonesy and Ben, and the carnies having Ben's back in the fight, and just ALL OF IT).
The conversation between Jonesy and Libby when she's worried he'll leave her for Sofie - ADOOOOOOORABLE. "This is the first time I've ever guessed what's on a woman's mind and got it right!" SO. CUTE. OMG. They are THE BEST.
And then the ending. It's Firefly all over again! nooooooooooooooo *wails*
AARGH SHOW AARGH.

Tim DeKay mentioned that the third season would have opened five years after the events of the second season finale. Daniel Knauf said Jonesy would have recovered from his gunshot wound, having been saved by Iris. Producer Howard Klein however pointed out that Jonesy "wasn't shot in a specific place – he [just] collapsed", and Knauf added "Sofie's intent in shooting Jonesy was to stop him from taking her back to the carnival", not to kill him. Season 3 would have opened with Jonesy pitching in a Major League Baseball game and still being married to Libby, as well as having a son with her.
