You know, it occurred to me while watching it all at once that one of the things that makes Peter and Neal's relationship so special is the mutual respect and fondness that comes from their cat and mouse game as they tried to outsmart one another while Neal was on the run. I think they lost that a bit the second season. They played that very well in the episode where the young guy (new millennium Neal Caffrey) was outsmarting Peter and gang. Peter was having so much fun trying to catch him and Neal was bristling.
At first I hated the storyline that had Neal and Peter at odds. And while I know it's tearing both men apart inside, I think they are both secretly enjoying the one-upmanship of their relationship again.

This is something that I have to occasionally remind myself, because watching the show (especially week-to-week) it's easy to get caught up in the emotions of the moment, the petty betrayals and losses of trust. But in the long run, even if they won't consciously admit it, I think they both understand that it's just the way they work -- and they're both willing to forgive those small betrayals. Peter in particular, I think, wouldn't know what to do with himself if he actually got what he claims he wants: Neal following his orders and never trying to do anything under the table. And I don't think Neal would know how to relate to Peter without always keeping an eye open for secondary motivations.
Anyway! I'm delighted that you like the vid. :) It was fun to wallow in the show's happy-shininess while I was making it.

... and yeah, there are some really lovely vids in White Collar fandom! I think it helps that the show itself is very bright, beautifully filmed, and full of eye candy. It's a very fun show to vid.

... I do love Peter's face. Well, Tim Dekay's face. He has the most awesome expressions. XD
