Random organizing tip
I'm on a cleaning/sorting/organizing jag this weekend (CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!) and I discovered something useful: if you're into fiber/paper crafts, those clear plastic document holders that are normally used for sorting A4-sized paper, like these, are absolutely wonderful for organizing things like crochet needles, random scraps of fabric, miscellaneous small scrapbooking supplies and things like that. They close up to keep things from falling out, are see-through so you can tell what's in it without opening it, and are easy to stack or to stuff into a bigger container. I bought several this morning and I've already run out; I have one that's full of needles and crochet hooks (tucked into my yarn box), one has filled up with old Christmas cards and letters, another's been taken over by fabric remnants that I plan to use for making scrap quilts, etc.
... also, for God's sake, self, stop buying Bristol paper. I can't seem to turn around in here without tripping over another 9x12 Bristol pad. Clearly I am not using it at the rate I'm buying it.

I'm actually the ugly duckling when it comes to craft-type stuff -- my mom and sister are both way better at it than I am. With me it's more like I have a lot of ideas for projects that I want to do, but tend to fail at the follow-through ... which is why I have a whole lot of yarn and fabric and scrapbooking supplies that I bought years ago for various projects that I haven't even started yet. On the other hand, now I've found all of it, and sorted it, so perhaps I can get something done with it? One can hope ...
