2 short storiesAnd Be Merry by
auberus - (gen) AU of "Methos" in which Fitz, not Duncan, is the one who encounters "Adam Pierson" for the first time. This is a really cute story with fun, bantery interactions between Fitz, Methos, Duncan, Amanda and Joe.
Five Times Amanda Broke in to Leave Something by
jinxed_wood - (canon pairings) This is wonderful and so, so Amanda.
2 long storiesAll Fall Down by
lithiumdoll - (Gen) Long, plotty, action gen - whee! I really loved this one (though don't try to figure out where it fits in the Highlander timeline; you'll only get a headache *g*). An Immortal who has historically been associated with plague outbreaks turns up in Paris. Now people are getting sick and heads may roll (literally). The whole cast shows up; I particularly liked the author's unsentimental and yet sympathetic handling of Methos - I really felt like she
nailed the Methos that I see onscreen, selfish and empathic at the same time, driven by a constant push-pull between helping his friends and protecting his own self-interest. (I also recommend checking out the same author's
All Things in Common, a somewhat shorter plotty story by the same author that includes not just the main cast but also a bunch of the minor characters that don't get much play, including Carl Robinson and Cory Raines.)
Snow by Dasha [ETA: also
series index on HL fiction archive - thanks to
ratcreature for pointing this out!] - (pairings: OH GOD WHERE TO BEGIN. Duncan/Methos, Duncan/Joe and Joe/Methos are the main pairings, plus others ...) If this is the same Dasha who is rec'd everywhere in SGA fandom, I expect most people have probably read this already! But I'm reccing it anyway, because this long, slow-paced, lyrical story is brimming over with love and friendship and family, entwined and inseparable. I'm linking to the
crack_van rec for this story rather than the story itself, because it has a complete index of links to the different parts (they are not linked to each other on the author's journal). One further testament to just how enjoyable this story is - while normally I skim sex scenes or skip them entirely (they don't bother or offend me; I'm just not interested) I read all the sex scenes in this story because they were so full of characterization and relationship stuff that you couldn't skip them without missing vital chunks of character interaction. (Which is
always how, as a reader, I prefer sex scenes to be, but usually I don't find them so.)
