Question/poll

So, LJ people ...

Do you like the little text that says the post has been crossposted to DW, or do you wish it'd just go away? (Now that I'm crossposting a lot of stuff, I'm trying to figure out how to set up my settings.)

I particularly like the notice of how many people have commented on the other pages. That's useful, whereas the anything beyond a "comment here" link is inoffensive, but unnecessary.

Same for me. That way if I see 0 comments, I know I don't have to click on the link to read comments, and if I see 20 comments, I know there might be an interesting discussion going on.

Yes, the comment count is incredibly useful!

Useful! I like it! That said, it IS your journal, and I will not be distressed if you decide to take it away. :)

I like to know when there are comments on DW; otherwise, I don't care.

I like it: as someone else said, when it tells you how many comments are on the other post. That way, if I'm interested in the subject and there's a lot of DW posts, I can go over and read that conversation. If it's 0...I can move on.

I find it useful; but it's your journal. So ... both? Heh.

.
If comments happen both places, I like peeking in to see the different views.

It's entirely selfish of me, but since I'm posting at DW and directing comments there, I like to know that I'm not the only one.

I find this link useful, but only because you don't post all content in both places, so I can see which is crossposted. If content is equivalent in a journal, I only follow on DW, and know that I can remove the LJ from my default viewing.

It's your journal. That said, I like it. I like seeing if there is a conversation going on at the DW side and if I see someone is basically cross posting from DW all the time, then I can follow them there rather than on LJ. At which point it becomes kind of moot... But most of all, I believe what you put on your journal, how you structure it, etc is your choice.

I find the links to the mirror posts useful because oftentimes I like to read the comments on the other post as well.

I like the versions where it just says at the bottom of the post Crossposted here (X comments) but I remove everyone from my flist who says that the entry was originally posted somewhere else and please comment there with OpenID. Mostly because the text clarifies that the journal owner would prefer to be read on the other journaling service, I have an OpenID reading list there, and I dislike zombies on my flist (I can't help it! These journals look like the undead to me! /o\).

No problem, it just means I can look at DW or LJ. I don't like all the stuff a bout linking to FB or Twitter et al so I found a code that made it go away. I'm happy now! :D

I'm ambivalent. I don't tend to post the little comment-y thing to LJ, although I keep a record of crossposts to LJ on my DW. It's convenience from DW to LJ, more than anything else.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to have the "this post has so many comments"...but my 'so many' is usually 0, and most of the people I'm personally invested in are on LJ and show no sign of upping and moving to DW, no matter what's done here at LJ...
