SGA fic: Pirate AU for Harlequin Challenge

I'm doing two stories this month for summersteam's summer Harlequin challenge. (The other one is Dresden Files and will be up later in the month.) The first of the two prompts I chose was P for Pirates.

Title: Five Ways They Weren't Pirates (or: Scenes from Five SGA Pirate AUs)
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Pairing: Some of the AUs are gen, some have (mostly background-ish) het, and one is slash. Those pirates, they get around. Aaarrrr.
Rating: PG
Word Count: about 6000
Spoilers: for 3x10, "Return"

thanks for commenting on my own Harlequin challenge fic. i thought i could repay the favor by doing so on yours. :) (i'm posting this over on the summersteam site too, just so you know...)

anyhoo. loved this idea! ronon is definitely pirate-y, and i loved it that he named his ship after his home planet, cuz it totally made sense for the character to show some pride in where he originally comes from.

i loved also how you categorized john as a sky pirate, cuz he really DOES love to fly. and how you included rodders as a software pirate, because he can soooo hack into almost anything if he's working with tech & not bodies, was also ingenious. :)

in other words, this was a truly great, involved 5-part fic, dude! & i loved every word & second of it! :)

PS also gotta mention my love for your sequel to postcards to jeannie. teyla continues to be insightful and long-suffering ronon continues to improve muchly on his artist skillz, particularly that one he made of teyla towards the end (SUPREMELY AWESOME, it was). i must say tho that john & rodney are teh snarky & the cute & they sorta still steal the show a bit. *luvs the whole thing immensely*
