SGA 3x05: Progeny

At some point there is bound to be an episode that doesn't make me cut away with a pathetic fangirlish sound of "squee!"

This was NOT that episode.

You know, I was expecting to have "Sateda" deliver team-bonding goodness -- that was pretty much a given. But this one ... this was kinda just an episode to watch while waiting for the ones that I'm really looking forward to this season.

So I was totally bowled over by what a squee-fest it was. This episode had flaws. Gaping plot holes that you could drive a Mac truck through. And do I care? Not at all! Let me count the reasons why ...

John and Rodney, back in total snark-mode! Rodney POKING John in the HEAD! (And Sheppard's sibling-ish look of annoyance and batting him away!) Elizabeth's "will you two grow UP" face that she kept getting throughout the episode. Ronon protecting Rodney, Rodney protecting Elizabeth, John worrying about Rodney in the cage, Rodney worrying about John blowing himself up, John actually BLOWING himself up, Teyla's look at Ronon when he's twirling his gun in the gateroom, Ronon's comment about family -- and Rodney looking at him while he said it.

Of course, the characters continue to be gigantic idiots in all their dealings with other people in the galaxy. But they're snarky, dorky, adorable idiots, so I'm willing to forgive them damn near anything.

And Rodney poked John in the head! *dies*

Love the icon! And the whole Sheppard/McKay interaction reminded me of the SG-1 episode (can't remember the title) where Mitchell and Carter were thrown into another dimension. They pulled a similar routine to see why they could interact with each other but not with the rest of the SGC. :-)
