Apparently LJ had a security breach and some users may have had their entries infected with information-harvesting viruses. Go here for more info and to check.
I think I need to start using placeholders. I didn't actually know you could! I hate embedded media in general; it really bogs down my loading times and makes the whole browser run slower.
