If the momentum for your original stuff is steady, then I say focus on the original stuff. Although I would also encourage signing up to do art. It would be different and you might end up having just as much of a blast that you did with writing for Big Bang last year :D. I thought about signing up for the art portion as well, but decided it would be heaping my plate too high.
