Some points of squee
Today has been a cleaning day -- and under all those papers, I have a desk! Who woulda guessed ...
Today, also, I'm once again reminded what an awesome fandom this is, and how full of awesome people it is. Such as:
- I have PODFIC!!!!
winkingstar recorded my Ronon and Teyla story Even Bonnie and Clyde Had Off Days. She has a lovely reading voice, and I'm still all *squee!* because ... podfic! For me! Go tell her how awesome she is.
- I have art! I had completely forgotten that I'd asked for one of
tardis80's postcards, but there it was, in a pile of mail from before Christmas. I had asked for something Western-themed with John and Rodney:

THEY ARE SO CUTE. I stuck it up next to my computer and I can't stop looking at it. Rodney's face! And the cool/crazy/weird riding critters, and the sunset colors, and the dust ... *flails* Thank you,
tardis80, you wonderful artistic person! I wish I hadn't waited so long to sort my mail!
In non-flailing news, I seem to have become addicted to Sugarland's country version of "Life in a Northern Town". Yeah, I don't know why, either. And I'm currently in the process of being simultaneously amused, bored and confused by Wiseguy's Dead Dog Records story arc. It's like a campy AU fanfic of the show, in which Vinnie is a record executive surrounded by '80s singers, soap opera actors and pop culture icons. (The guest cast reads like a who's-who of total WTF: Tim Curry, Mick Fleetwood, Glenn Frey playing a sleazy agent ...) This show usually has an interesting mix of wacky and angsty, but it's like the needle swung totally into the "wacky" column for this one, and I'd like to get back to the angsty mobsters already ...

Oh - yesterday I got some of the new Alaska stamps - they are very pretty! Very blue/pink/purple with snow, sled dogs and huge Mt. Mckinley. Had a funny conversation with the postal lady who was all excited to show me the 'new' stamp (they just came out) because she knows I get all the new pretty stamps and she was like 'look at the great shot of Mt. Mckinely' and I was 'ohhh! Doggies!' and she was 'Dogs? Where do you see dogs!!' So I pointed to the mini/tiny little row of dogs and sled and she gave me this look saying 'I never even noticed' and I shruged and told her I loved sled dogs :)

Yep, I mailed the card and like a day later you left and I was like, drat! I didn't get them mailed as early as I was hoping. I can imagine the pile of stuff you have to dig through!

*giggle* Yeah, I know that feeling.
The postcard - wonderful little drawing. :-) It reminded me immediately of the predatory/carnivorous "not-horses" in Kryadidragon's great story "The Good Fight".
