I'm really not sure what I want to do with the rest of my day. ... well, okay, what I really want to do is marathon another story arc of Wiseguy (which has swallowed my heart and soul), but my sister is thoroughly burned out on it, so we'll be watching something else tonight. And she's at work anyway. I don't want to read more of the book I'm currently reading because I have a very strong feeling from the none-too-subtle foreshadowing that it's going to kill off my favorite character and stomp on my heart with pointy-toed boots. The SGA crack story from hell is finally done and posted, so I never have to think about it again. (I quite liked writing it; it's just that I thought it was NEVER GOING TO END.) I always fall into "don't feel like doing anything" mode when I finish a story. Maybe I'll work on original fiction. Or write some meta or something for Wiseguy, because I really adore those guys right now.
Oh yeah, and we're in the middle of a snowpocalypse, apparently. The winter storm that buried the Midwest is sweeping over us now; people were talking about 2 feet of snow at the grocery store last night, but they're only forecasting 6-10 inches today. Still, it's snowing heavily, and since we have food and DVDs, I can enjoy the beauty of it without worrying too much about the side effects. I just hope my sister doesn't have trouble getting home from work.
Maybe I'll make some more tea and watch the snow fall.

Have I mentioned the sunshine here today? And now it's kind of cold, and by "kind of" I mean I'm wearing a cardigan over my t-shirt. Supposedly, "real" winter is supposed to start next week, so hopefully we'll get rain, and maybe even a thunderstorm, for Hanukkah. I am looking forward.

I was just reading the entry about your weather! Yeah, it's a bit colder here. I'm told that this is one of the snowiest Ithaca Decembers in recent memory. Ha, lucky me.
Good luck on your Yule fic! I was sad about not signing up for Yuletide this year, but I'm glad that I didn't because I've had more fun working on stories without that deadline hanging over me. I can't wait for the archive to open, though!

If your bored and interested I could send you my not-quite-finished-yet RepliWeir fic and you could tell me if I'm doing at all okay with Atlantis canon and characterization. Or you could just enjoy watching the snow, which is probably more fun :)

The snow is not nearly as awful as yesterday's Impending Looming Doom weather reports would have us believe. *g* It's been snowing steadily, but not too heavily, for most of the day; I think there are a few inches out there, but not anything that would interfere with the transit system, I wouldn't think.

I haven't been turning comments on lately on most of my creative stuff; it seems to work much better for my peace of mind. *g* Especially a story like this, which basically contains everything the fandom dislikes! But I'm very glad that you enjoyed it.

To be honest, turning off comments is hard to do, especially on a long story that I've been working on for a month. I have a certain amount of approval-craving, too! But I absolutely *refuse* to say anything like "Please leave me only positive feedback" because, well, it's the same thing as turning off comments really, isn't it? So I may as well just be honest with myself and turn them off, since I suspect that my f'list, as a whole, will not react well to this story. ^_^

Happy for me, though. I'm a port in the storm!

Helped the Tipper girl clear the snow from her driveway this morning. I know it's a chore to you guys, but to me it's a "new experience" - hence she now has a "snow pyramid" at the end of the driveway. I will have to get a photo of Cuddles sitting on it.
But it looks like I'll be home for Christmas which is what my family was worried about. So looking good, relatively speaking.

Although...Teyla the boy kept making me think of one of the episodes of Blackadder...

Never saw that episode of Blackadder, apparently, since it rings no bells. But the comparison makes me grin. :)

Working on original fiction is always fun. (I'm almost done with mine!) I'm sure whatever you'll come up with next will be good, though...like always. :D
Happy holidays! And hope you're sister makes it home safetly. :)

I hope it's okay if I rec this. I mean. It made me giggle. It brightened my day. And, crack or not, it had a good plot! And so many great lines that I'd have to quote half your story back at you if I wanted to list them all. My favorite is of course bumbling Sir Rodney, who I wanted to cuddle even harder than usual. But all the characters kicked ass. And I loved that you gave so much screen to Teyla(val) and Guinevere. (Honestly, I have a hard time imagining how anyone could dislike this story... in any case, I enjoyed it and I'm sure others on my friends list will too!)
