(no subject)

I am alive! And now in Ithaca, NY. Had a lovely time in NYC; it's a rare and glorious thing to get to hang out with other fangirls, and it was too short, as always.

My time online, until the end of December, will most likely be random and intermittent, since we haven't yet been able to get my laptop to work with my sister's ISP, so I'm using her computer instead. Thus, if I show up out of the blue, participate in discussions and then vanish from them, or don't answer comments or miss a post where I would normally comment or whatever, it's not anything personal; it's just that my online time is a bit limited and not necessarily receiving my full attention.

Hey!

Nice to know you're alive. :D

I've always wanted to go to NYC, but am sadly afraid that it will be quite a few years before I'm able to do so. :(

I totally understand about the whole online thing...this is the first time I've been online in about a week and a half. I've missed bunches! :D

Eee, have fun in Ithaca! I do miss the place at times...go out for Wingz in my name! (or whatever they're called now.) Or Louie's Lunch...mmm, subs...(you can't get subs in Japan, I miss 'em much!)

Have fun - take pictures! I've only been through NYC's airport.

Yeah, yeah. You just want an excuse to get out of responding to all of our deeply felt, brain-power taxing, baiting comments! Weak! I for one expect full and complete reports everyday, with pictures and links to thought-provoking websites, as well as informationals on "Ithaca in winter" and "New York on an Alaskan Dime".

Don't let her get away with it folks! Demand more from your Friendshipper!

(Yes, I'm at work, and I'm bored. How did you know?)

Ah, NYC. My favorite place on the planet. At least out of the places I've been so far. Glad you're having fun!

Ithaaaaaca! Oh, how I do I miss it at times! Glad to know you're alive and kicking, have fun, enjoy upstate NY, including, as Neechan mentioned, the food! ^_- *huggles*

Greetings from the train from Toronto to Montreal! We're almost there (stopped at Dorval, last stop before Montreal).

I love how wifi is available just about everywhere these days, although I've spent most of the trip going through my NYC photos and getting them ready to post, but the wifi doesn't seem robust enough to upload the photos to the net.

Ah well, will just have to wait until I get into the hotel tonight (apparently has internet) to see Cuddles exploits at the Statue of Liberty. LOL!

Yay, glad you had fun in NYC! Oooh, Ithaca! My hometown is an hour from there. Be careful of the weather tonight!

Good luck with ISP issues and have a great December!

I was just reading about your trip to NYC on [livejournal.com profile] derry667's LJ. It looks like you had a great time. Lots of good food, good places to visit and geeking out with friends to wee hours of the morning. Ah fun times.

I love going up to New York to visit - there is a great energy there, but I am not sure I would want to live there. I like being able to see trees just by looking out my window and not having to deal with the crowds all the time. I was going to going up there this week - in fact I would have been up there right now, but that trip got delayed due to a family emergency. (Well, I did get up there - sort of. I passed through on the train to Ct.) With luck we will be able to get up to NYC by the end of the year - or the very first part of 2009.

So spending time with family you don't get to see that often is more important then spending time online? I'm insulted. OK, not really. I know what it is like to have other things going on in your life and not having your online time being your first priority.

Yay! Glad to know you're alive and about. And in Ithaca! We only missed each other with a couple of years! XD So sad. Better luck next time?

Where's Ithaca? I figure it's somewhere near NYC. :D

[identity profile] laylalawlor.livejournal.com 2008-12-13 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yes; it's about a 5-hour drive away, in the middle of New York state. :D

I twigged to that :D Have a nice holiday.

I love Ithaca! Enjoy all the great places and yummy food!

Did you get my email several weeks ago with my cell #?

Have fun!

(It's also very strange knowing that you and I are currently in more or less the same time zone. I'm used to being practically 180 degrees inverted, so to speak.)

And yet I still just intermittently pop up with replies. It must be a deeply ingrained part of my personality ;-P

And yeah, the internet being on the actual train throughout the journey was pretty cool.
