Some of the numbers are so far off from what I was expecting that I can't help wondering if something went wrong somewhere! On the other hand, my first year or two on LJ I only knew a few people, and so it's probably weighted towards those, even though I've been a lot more active lately.

I don't know. This one's clearly going back a ways, because one of the top commenters is someone who's no longer on LJ (and I haven't even been in touch with her for a long time).

Some of them are no surprise, but some of them are utterly unlike what I expected that person's total to be. I just don't know!

I suspect it looks at all public entries. I mean, here it lists 9,998 comments counted and on the journal infopage it says this journal received 13,741.

eta: huh. actually I tried for my LJ, and there it counted every comment, because you get the stats file while logged in, and the number matches that on my infor page. So I have no idea why there is a discrepancy here.

How interesting! The 9,998 figure is suspicious -- I wonder if whatever coding they use doesn't count past 9,999? That would explain why it's giving extremely low counts for some people I could have sworn were more frequent commenters.

*sigh* I vanished because of the way parts of fandom were acting over the whole Carson being killed... I honestly felt that some people on my friends list were acting like spoiled children throwing temper tantrums because stuff happened that they didn't like... and I was overreacting to their overreactions... so I bailed on fandom in general....

I still come back every now and then to see if you and a few others have written new fics (I even have a fic reading journal that I'm not sure I want anyone to know about yet)....
