Help me, friends list, you're my only hope!

Okay, I know there is an LJ backup tool that works for Macs, because I've used it, but now I can find neither the website nor a bookmark for it, and even Google isn't helping. I believe the one I'm thinking of is entirely web-based and does not involve downloading a client; it backs up your journal as a giant PDF. Anybody got a link for something like that? Or any other backup tool that doesn't require downloading a Windows client?

That's very possible - I've been using it for years, myself. Very useful, except for how it removes blank lines from comments. That is a little annoying, but... Better safe than sorry, and it actually does save everything you've written!

Question: have you donated? I tried to use it briefly but was immediately directed to a donation form with no other options. It doesn't seem like it's a donation any longer, just payment for bandwidth. Understandable, but it seems like false advertising to me.

Yeah, I did donate a little way back when... It just seems weird that the page would somehow remember that from years ago before I've entered any info at all! Really - I just checked, and going here, it'll start making a LJ Book without asking for any info that could identify you as a donor. Have you tried it again? It would be interesting to know if they can somehow identify previous donors through their LJ names.

There also is a python script by antennapedia that will archive all your entries and comments that works on Linux, Mac and Windows for both journals and communities (and will migrate them to other sites as well if you want):
