I had wondered how much of a problem that was for people -- being predisposed NOT to like a story because of having its flaws pointed out. See, that's my big worry ... if I'm reccing something, then obviously I liked it, and I'd hate to have someone not give it a chance because of something that wouldn't turn out to be a big deal for them at all.
I don't generally read the full text of a rec simply because I DO want to be surprised and make up my own mind about it rather than hearing all about how someone else felt about it (which is one of the main reasons why I dislike spoilers in general, for that matter).
