I've spent most of the evening reading Toni Morrison's Beloved, which is very good but WOW do I really, really need some happy, fluffy SGA fanfic now. And my Amazon order with the next Locke Lamora book has shipped! eeee! *rubs hands together in anticipation* I also discovered the most current Temeraire book's out in paperback, so snapped that up, too.

I'm looking forward to getting the prompts for the genficathon. I have two story ideas already that I hope will work. If not, then I will set them aside for later, assuming I don't get them written first. Hopefully the prompts will give me some more wonderful ideas.

I'm looking forward to sending out the prompts too (including my own ... I'm assigning them randomly, so I don't know what I'll get, either.) Still about a week 'till nominations close, but I expect to have the prompts out very quickly after that. (And next time I do this, I'll probably have a shorter nomination period -- though the response has been very good, it slowed to a trickle after just a couple of days; I could probably have gotten away with just a week or so.)

*grin* There are lots of good stories nominated, actually! It really makes a fantastic reading list. I hadn't even heard of some of these, and last year I thought I was reading just about every gen fic out there! So much to read, so little time.

Huh. Someone had nominated my SGA fic "Migration", and I looked at the other 14 authors nominated in the gen/action/adv category. *cough cough* Sholio *cough cough* LOL, Tipper, skypig, Bastet, Sealie to name a few...I don't stand a chance in hell. LOL!!! Amazing company to be in!

dood! I just mainlined The Light of a Fading Sun and I swear, it is one of the most amazing things I've read this year. The characters blow me away - the way you spin out minor changes into their logical, dark results and... No words! Except for Awesome
