Time-wastin'
... I'm playing MGM's little flash game for Mortal Coil and I just had Sheppard sacrifice himself to save Rodney for no reason. Rodney was probably okay where he was, but I just couldn't move the little Sheppard icon back behind a wall and leave Rodney out there unprotected. So I jumped him up between two bad guys instead and he got killed.
The extra-sad thing is, I didn't even think about the strategy of what I was doing; I just did it.
I also keep making up dialogue for them in my head as I move their little avatars around. Also sad.
I totally forgot about the Flash game last week, dangit! Did anybody play the Miller's Crossing one? Can you tell me what the objective was? I'm just curious ... and vaguely annoyed with myself for forgetting. (I wish they had the old games on the site somewhere!)

The Miller's Crossing one was ok except they got Jeanie's name wrong and called her Sharon which messed up the logic of the little questions and bothered me because that's not her name! Get it right, people! Anyhoo, John and Ronon had to go around collecting the McKays. It was neat. John or Ronon stepped on Rodney or Jeanie's little square and the McKays were saved! Yay! It was very "hang on, we're coming for you guys!"
Oh boy, how much of a loser am I? But...it was neat!

Did they have them in Earth clothes or in their Atlantis uniforms?
I keep dying on level 3 in this one! Poor Rodney ... I keep getting Sheppard killed and then Rodney runs around helplessly until the Replicators kill him. It's so sad.

I keep getting Rodney killed in this one - and it's disturbing because they're the Replicators, eh? In my head he just keeps getting assimilated for some reason. He must be Rodney 2.0 because Original Rodney would just die a horrible death. Or get his mind probed - another disturbing possibility. The horror knows no end in this week's game! Poor Wee Rodney. Even John and his over-sized gun can't save him!
But I think your Rodney is in a worst position because he has those Extra Moves of Panic to get through before they get him! Oh Noes!
This game is too much fun! :)

It made me want to write a fic where they're trapped somewhere and keep dying and coming back to life, like a horribly messed-up Groundhog's Day. So much angst.

It's not that sad - OK, it is, but you are not the only one who does it.
And yes, you sometimes have to kill John to get Rodney to the next level.

Actually, in my case, the only times I successfully managed to get Rodney a level up were the times that John survived, too.

Probably much better than the dialogue that was going through my head last week when the ninjanappers kept moving back and forth over McKay.
I can post the pictures if you're really curious.

I do wish they kept the old ones around; I wonder if anyone's suggested it to them.
