NaNoWriMo ahoy!

Okay, I'm gonna do it: I've created a new journal for posting my NaNoWriMo novel and other original fiction: [livejournal.com profile] icefallstudio. (Icefall Studio is the name of my freelance graphic design business, and is the semi-unofficial imprint under which I "publish" my webcomics.) I'll start posting the novel as I begin writing it on November 1. I should warn you ahead of time that, while I'm going to TRY to finish everything I start to post there, I can't promise anything! This is basically an experiment to see if having a place to post this stuff gets me more engaged with writing it.

Most of what's there is going to be published under friendlock, including the novel. If you are interested, please either post a comment here or at the welcome thread on the other journal. You can also just friend it and I'll friend you back. I know that friends-only fiction is a bother, and believe me, I understand totally if you don't want to -- but in this case I felt that I ought to keep it under lock for my own sake since it's original fiction and might be published someday. (Assuming it doesn't suck too much!)

However, I will also be web-publishing some stories at that site that aren't friendlocked, so you can always wait and read those if you would prefer not to have to jump through the hoops of friending and all of that.

Cool! I'm happy you decided to share your writing - the friends-only thing is really no hassle at all, since it all shows up on my f'list in the end anyway. Good luck! ^_^

Added, because your stuff is always a joy to read, and maybe seeing someone else post will keep me focused on Nano as well :)

Out of curiosity, do you have a link to the comics? Being a comics artist myself I'm always interested in seeing what else is out there.

That's pretty amazing stuff. And damn, you're prolific, too... can't believe all those were created in the span of seven years or so. How!? o_O

I also have two graphic novels (http://www.ravenschildren.com), which are really not representative of my work anymore; they were my first project, and they ended up an ambitious, muddled mess.
(Boy, can I sell myself or what? *g*)

Heh. I know that feeling when it comes to older work.

I really like the style in these, though, particularly those couple pages you reworked. The whole thing's got a kind of European look... reminds me more of the French and Belgian albums I grew up on than of American comic books.

I read the two short stories, Raven Dreams and Shoni... again, great stuff. The Eisner and Miller influence in Shoni are interesting. Okay, page 5 clashes a bit with the rest, but in itself looks extremely cool. :) You could easily turn Raven Dreams into a kid's book, I think. The story would be perfect.

Thanks for linking!

I'd like to be included in the list of people who can read your novel...please?
