In the original version, as McKay is being escorted out [of the Wraith cell], Teyla tries to hearten him with: “Stay strong, Rodney.” to which an obviously unnerved McKay replies: “I’ll try.” In the original draft, Sheppard calls after him: “Try harder!”

Glad we lost that Sheppard line, it would have seemed a bit harsh - and it makes a lot more sense for him to be stunned trying to protect a team member...

I love that Joe M's done this for us. It's great to see what was meant to be, even if it's frustrating on one level that certain ideas/lines didn't make it to canon. (Like Ronon the artist, the welcome back party, the line that I love from McKay: “Still, I'm one of those equal opportunity fearers.” which I mentioned in my reply to your previous Reunion squee...)

I like that Joe F isn't worried about giving suggestions to make his character stay inline. I agree about the two levels thingie...I like that Sheppard has problems letting people know he cares...it's just so right for him! (And Rodney's not that much better, either!!) It's also nice to see a few scenes where he tries to overcome that a bit (eg *that* scene in Sateda). The way in this ep that Sheppard says stuff to Ronon (about him leaving, the mess hall scene) by not saying it...LOL! So John!

Still squeeing over the first four episodes (yes, slap wrist, I saw the fourth one online...Of course, I know have to wait about *two weeks* for a new episode to turn up!)
