Sometimes canon denial is kind of sad, really ... and then there's canon denial that's hilarious, and unrepentant about it. Exhibit A: notsobigheaded, a DW community devoted to proving that Jack is not actually the Face of Boe.

I am very amused.

In other surfing amusement, there's korilian's list of improbable SGA porn. I hesitate to call it a recs list because I don't think I'd touch most of these stories with a 10-foot barge pole (except for the ones I've, er, already read *slinks away*) but the summaries are most entertaining.

That's just... just... OUTSTANDINGLY FUNNY!!! And more power to them, say I! Not that I don't like the idea of Jack being the Face of Boe, but that much energy and humour being put into their denial - well, God luv em! I wish them all the best.

LOL, that's pretty much how I feel -- I don't really care one way or the other (and actually, I thought the scene was funny just the way it was, ambiguity and all), but the amount of effort they're putting into this, and the cheerfully tongue-in-cheek attitude of the site, makes it a kick. It wouldn't be nearly as much fun if they were all serious and upset about it.

*Dies laughing* I'm still watching my way through series 3 as it's shown here in the states, but I know the 'great reveal' via a friend who was in England when they showed the final episode (or maybe a repeat), and told us all about it. Until I see it, I don't know, I'd go with Canon denial. I mean, it said in Satellite 5, one of the news reels was 'the face of boe' having a kid! And since it's way future (he's a face!), and Jack was ON the station (and in that timeline) as Jack, and it couldn't be the current Jack's comments about 'being pregnant' in Torchwood, cause he's not a face! (and Torchwood is in the 'current' time, not the future)... sigh - time travel, it gives me a headache.

As for the porn.. uhm, yea, and I've read some of them too. *joins you in slinking away*

I'm really not even TRYING to figure out all the timeline stuff in Doctor Who. Or to understand how time travel actually works in the series, because the more I try, the less sense it makes. So I'm giving up and assuming that whatever the show gives us is canon, regardless of whether it makes sense in light of previously established canon. And they'll probably contradict THAT in the next episode anyway. *grin*

It's so marvelously freeing! Now if I could just achieve this level of mental zen with SGA, I would be at peace with the universe and all would be well. Ommmmmm...

And, yes, considering that I don't think of myself as much of a smut reader, it was kind of funny to be scrolling down the list of stories and keep thinking, "Hey, I've read that one and it wasn't half bad..." *g*

Yes--DW and Farscape stand so far outside the realm of possibility that you must either stop watching or just give up the fight and stop worrying. SGA, unfortunately, actually still seems to have some possibility and makes attempts to explain things, making it difficult to "achieve this level of mental zen".

Poor Jack! I'm horrified at the thought and tempted to join the canon deniers. I just saw the episode last night! Oh, the horror, the horror!

I just repeat to myself that time in the whoniverse is wibbly-wobbly and timey-wimey and stop trying to figure out all the many little discrepancies when it comes to time. But I agree, I wish I could do that with SGA instead of going, "BUT WAIT A MINUTE!" all the time.
