Lost

I really *liked* Lost tonight! This is the first time I've truly enjoyed an episode since ... probably the middle of last season. It had the feeling that the show used to have, back when I got hooked on it; why can't it always be like this?

Tonight's episode was funny and sweet; nearly everybody was in it; no annoying love triangles, no gratuitous mindfuckery; Sawyer was actually working with the group (sort of) rather than being an ass; and they got back to some of the *old* mysteries (the numbers, the curse, the crazy Frenchwoman) rather than throwing new plot elements at us willy-nilly. It made me laugh and it made me "aww", and I actually LIKED the characters for the first time in quite awhile.

And it really does heighten the suspense knowing that they (frequently) kill characters on this show, because when the car was plunging down the hill, I was genuinely afraid that they'd kill Hurley -- I never in a million yearse would have pegged him for the chopping block, but I really thought they might. And then they didn't and I practically cheered. It definitely had me grinning.

Why can't it be like this all the time?!

DITTO DITTO IN TRIPLICATE!!!!

I was scared for Hurley too, the same thought ran through my head as yours, and since I'm spoiler free in that fandom I had really no clue what would happen. I didn't know Eko was leaving the show. This ep was more old school, and where they should have stayed. I could care less about the "others", they were more interesting as shadows in the trees, and SCREW the damn love triangle.

Maybe the show will get back on track now.

I kinda lost interest after the first season and it was just by chance that I caught the last episode. I've decided the Hurley is my favorite character. And I thought he was toast too, especially when he started say "there is no curse" because I thought "JINX!" :o)

Yup and Yup. The episodes have been so bleak lately, the characters so unlikable. It was nice to have one where I LIKED them for a change. It was fun. They got along. Nice

I think the Others just annoy me. It was like a breath of fresh air to be away from them. I wish there were fewer "Other" heavy stories in the future.
