Lost
I really *liked* Lost tonight! This is the first time I've truly enjoyed an episode since ... probably the middle of last season. It had the feeling that the show used to have, back when I got hooked on it; why can't it always be like this?
Tonight's episode was funny and sweet; nearly everybody was in it; no annoying love triangles, no gratuitous mindfuckery; Sawyer was actually working with the group (sort of) rather than being an ass; and they got back to some of the *old* mysteries (the numbers, the curse, the crazy Frenchwoman) rather than throwing new plot elements at us willy-nilly. It made me laugh and it made me "aww", and I actually LIKED the characters for the first time in quite awhile.
And it really does heighten the suspense knowing that they (frequently) kill characters on this show, because when the car was plunging down the hill, I was genuinely afraid that they'd kill Hurley -- I never in a million yearse would have pegged him for the chopping block, but I really thought they might. And then they didn't and I practically cheered. It definitely had me grinning.
