fic timestamp meme
This is picked up from
tielan's LJ. And I may regret it considerably, since I just got done (well, mostly done, not quite yet) with a giant mess of Obligation!Fic -- the ficathon stories -- and the last thing I need is MORE obligations to write about. However, due to the latest developments in SGA, I'm feeling very blocked on all of my current long stories. I just don't really want to write for it (though I guess you'd never know from the giant tagfic I wrote last week ... heheh). So I'm going to add a couple of my own caveats to the meme.
Here is the actual meme:
Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.
I notice that when people do this, they're giving insanely specific timestamps (e.g. 6 months, 3 days in the future or 17 minutes before the story starts). I'd really rather not do that. So, if you comment with a request, please make it very general. Let me know if you want future or past, but I'd prefer "near future" or "far future" to a specific time request. Let's call this one the Friendshipper Corollary to the timestamp meme.
Oh! And, I'm not going to actually PROMISE to write everything that is requested. I'm mostly trying to break my writer's block, so if I get a lot of requests and get to where I'm avoiding writing because of having too much to do, I'll probably drop some.
Please don't let that scare you off from requesting, though. :)
ETA: While I do mean *my* stories, in response to a comment below, if you actually wish to request a bitty prequel/sequel scene for one of your own, then by all means do so! Assuming that it's something I've read or might reasonably like to read, anyway...

"Letters to Jeannie" - near future
"Long Road Home" - far future
hopefully that's better.... *nods*

Instead, I'll go with the Killing Frost that someone already asked for, and I'd say near future. I was curious to see if there was any more fallout from the accusations that were flung around on the Daedalus...

What I actually want is really a nice character piece for some of your OC's in that story - especially Carol Ling and Keisha Seavey. Oh, and some more Caldwell. You write a great characterisation of Caldwell.
Actually, even a "previously on the Daedalus" fic for those characters. I'd just love to learn more abut them, even in a snippet, drabblish way.

(Don't mind me, I'm jacked up on too much TV)
