Ronon music video: Sweet Survivor

So ... remember all that whining about finding good vidding programs for the Mac? After I quit kvetching and settled down to work, I finally managed to finish a vid. *claps* Go me!

Now then ... this is the first time I've ever managed to make a WMV on my Mac, so beta-viewers (primarily those with PC's) are invited to download it and see if it plays OK for them. I'm still working on getting my file sizes down -- it's about 34 Mb, which I realize is a trifle large for a WMV-format music video. But hey ... it worked, and the video isn't squooshed, which is one of the reasons why iMovie was making me scream. (It kept trying to compress my video into a 4:3 aspect ratio, which looked highly wonky.) At least, it isn't squooshed for *me* ... which is why I need other people to tell me if it works on computers other than mine!

So please, download and watch and let me know if you can play it back OK. If so, I'll post it to [livejournal.com profile] atlantis_vids and post an actual, decent description of it. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out if people can actually view it.

The video is hosted on my private webspace and it is zipped.

Download it here!

EDIT: Oh crud, I forgot to add: This video contains massive Sateda spoilers. You probably don't want to watch it if you haven't seen the episode. Otherwise, most of the clips are from Season 2.

The vid plays just fine on a PC, you should really really post it.

On my linux system it isn't squooshed but I have problems with the color in that there are moving streaks of color overlaid the picture (however I noticed that with at least one other wmv video that apparently played fine for others).

tho i dled this at the sga vid crossposting, i thought id just give you my comments here. though it was an oddly soft, slower, & folksy song for ronon the character, i still think this vid totally rocked!!!! Awesome job, dude! It was different & I quite liked it for that very reason! :) ~ur pal, Sharma
