Highlander recs

This time I'm reccing pretty much everything written by mackiedockie. Because I can't pick just one! And I don't want to! These are all long, suspenseful action stories with background Duncan/Methos (and occasionally other het, slash or polyamorous pairings as well), but mainly focused on the action plot and the Joe-Methos-Duncan friendship triad, usually with some h/c on the side. Anyway, if you like one, you'll probably like them all.

Dirt Road Blues (also on LJ) - This one is a longish Joe & Methos buddy-road-trip/snarkfest with an extra helping of soldier!Joe (I love it when authors remember just how badass he can be). And Duncan's around too, of course.

The Tale of the Scorpion (co-written with adabsolutely) - Long plotful story in which Joe's been reassigned to an Immortal in Mexico after he and Duncan had one of their periodic clashes. I must admit that I had a bit of a "glee!" reaction when I realized that this story was about Duncan and Joe having a falling-out and needing to patch things up, not Duncan and Methos. Methos is still getting along with both of them just fine, and of course it's a total coincidence that he's shown up in Mexico now too, right? Especially since the new Immortal Joe's been assigned to has a reputation for making Watchers (and other Immortals) disappear. But if all went smoothly, there wouldn't be much of a story...

Refraction (also on LJ) - This one is basically a Joe and Ceirdwyn action story, with Duncan, Methos and Amanda on the side, and an awesome and very original take on the powers of the Methuselah stone.

I adore Refraction--that's the fic I recced to you, I think--and I'll admit it's mostly because I fangirl Ceirdwyn *so hard*. I don't know what it is about the old female Immortals that get to me.

Thanks for the other recs! I haven't gone searching for new HL fic in a while, so I've been relying on your recs. :)

It was probably you - so thanks! :) I finally plowed through a whole bunch of HL fic tabs I'd had open. I'd been avoiding the Duncan/Methos ones on my initial fic binge, so now I'm getting around to reading a lot of stories that I had bypassed as "not my thing" at first (but are turning out to be very much my thing *g*).

I thought I had read all of mackiedockie's HL fic, but "Refraction" is new to me! (I wonder whether she never reposted it from the community to her own journal, and that's how I missed it.)
