sholio: (Catch-22)

So I can't help noticing ...

... that the DW journal import queue is alarmingly backed up; which isn't surprising since LJ's downtime has made a lot of people look into backing up, but I've had a journal import queued for over four hours and it still hasn't made any progress, while the queue continues to grow deeper. Has anyone done a successful import in the last couple of days? Should I abort and try again later?

ETA: As usual, the inevitable result of whining about something is that it works perfectly. *g* Import just finished; apparently it's just slow due to backlog. (I'm spoiled, I guess, because when I've done it before it hasn't been at peak times and it's been almost instant.) *pats poor overloaded DW*

Trying again later may not hurt.

This is good to know.

Who knows, the sudden urge to back things up on DW may have created an unintentional secondary request overload on LJ's side.

Denise talked about this a bit in today's news post.

this morning denise asked people to hold off on importing; it adds a load to livejournal that is hard for them right now with all their other issues.
