46500 / 52000 (89.42%)

(Of course, the 52K is just a ballpark estimate; it's a YA and there are basically two "halves" to it, and the first one came out around 26K, so that's where I estimated the total. I tend to write long. We'll see.)

Also ... regarding tea ... genmaicha? Definitely an acquired taste. One of my co-workers bought some and didn't like it, so she gave it to me; it's roasted/popped brown rice blended with green tea. Tastes kind of like stewed popcorn, IMHO.

Popping in to say congratulations - you could round that up to 90% and it would be almost sorta kinda completely accurate!

And also in defence of genmaicha! That stuff is delicious - it is as if green tea suddenly had a mid-life crisis and decided to devote itself to others and became comfort food! Well, more or less. As you can tell, I don't mind the popcorn aspect...

Regarding genmaicha ... I do not deny that my distaste is completely subjective, of course! I do have a whole (small) bag of it, so we'll see how I feel about it once I get to the bottom of the bag ... :)

To me, any kind of tea is an acquired taste; whenever I try a new type of tea, I always vaguely dislike it (though I can usually tell after one cup whether or not I'll learn to enjoy it. I never drank a second cup of jasmine tea, for example; the first one was more than enough).

And yay for the writing progress!

Heh, yeah - I am a terribly conservative tea drinker, and while I like to explore and try new things, I tend to revert right back to the 2 or 3 kinds that I like best. *g*

Genmaicha tea? That sounds interesting...I've been a fan of many different kinds of tea and have never heard of that one before!

52K and growing? *sigh* I really need to write more on my own stories [checks folder=pales as realizes that I have around twenty uncompleted fics, plus five rather LARGE novels in storage] but I've been procrastinating. I really don't see how you do it...(looks on in awe)...especially with all the books you read, tv you watch, job, family...etc...

Um...good luck with writing is all I can think of saying, I guess.

Good luck with your writing too! I guess I've got a whole bag of the genmaicha, so ... maybe by the time I finish the bag I'll have acquired the taste for it!

Possibly a little late in asking (you've certainly finished that bag of tea by now have you ) but I was wondering if you'd recommend it or not once you've finished. I was rather curious...I looked in the store the other day and couldn't find any. :S

I haven't had any more, so my opinion is still just the same. :) But individual tastes are different; you might like it better than I did. If you're in the U.S., you'd probably need to look in a specialty tea shop to find it, but any of the better-stocked ones ought to carry it, and if not, the salesperson could probably tell you where to order it from!

Yes, I'm in the US. (Missouri, in fact) But I don't generally go to a lot of tea-shops because they're more money than I can afford. I generally do cheaper stores, such as Wal-Mart [funny, I hate it most of the time, but its one of the main stores that I use], Dollar General occasionally, and a few others such as those. I didn't see any in Wal-Mart, but then WM has more coffee than it does tea, I think. [or rather, the coffee is more cheap than tea, since tea is actually good for you and the good things for you tend to be more expensive than not]

*considers* I suppose I could go to a tea shop, but I honestly wouldn't know if there was one (that was cheap enough) in around where I lived. *frowns* oh well. I still thought that I would ask. How's that novel coming along now? Is my pestering getting to you yet? :D
