Dear brain: wtf

Headline on Yahoo News: "Militants kill 16 passengers in northwest Pakistan". Which is, obviously, tragic and awful, but I read the first word, at first glance, as "Mutants".

I don't know what universe my brain is tapped into at the moment, but apparently it's not this one.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! That's just too precious!! Thanks for the giggle!

Now, you see, that's new interpretation of the article I would have clicked immediately!

This happens to me all the time. There's a community near me called Sunnyside. So, whenever I see it in the local news ticker, my mind sees "Sunnydale", which puts and entirely different twist on the news.

...Um, it's not just you...because even before I got to you saying it, I had to go back an reread the first line again going Mutants...no militants...so apparently my brain is in the same wtf universe! ^_-

LOL... okay, so my brain did exactly the same thing when I read your post. And reading "mutants" didn't even make me pause. Gah!
