Still working on the website

Scrolling and screen-width issues should be fixed now. Actually, aside from going and finding the URLs to all the ff.net pages and such, I think I'm happy with the homepage. Now I just need to convert all the stories to HTML and format them ... *sob*

Website preview here (links are still non-functional):

I know nothing about coding or formatting, but can say with absolute certainty that the slightly washed-out sepia-toned picture of John and Rodney is fantastic!!! I love everything about it from the fading around the edges to Soldier!John being slightly in front of Civilian!Rodney. With a gun, omg *G* I always love to watch John in front in protective mode, but when they're going into the conference room like in Siege III he defers to Rodney. Just so awesome.

Thank you very much! And yeah, I do love that picture. It's one of the promo shots for "Progeny", and it just displays so much of what makes them cool. And, I never noticed John deferring to Rodney in that scene in Seige III -- guess that means I have to go back and rewatch it! *grin*

Nice! I love the picture of John and Rodney at the top there. The only bad part about this is that it makes me feel like such a slacker. I keep saying I'm going to put a website together for some of my photography, but I haven't done it yet. I have a book about html and I think I could figure out how to do a basic site on my own. It's just sitting my butt down and getting to work on it that's turning out to be a problem.

And since I don't think I've given you any feedback yet, let me take this opportunity to say I absolutey LOVE your fic Old Soldiers Die Hard. I totally didn't see the ending coming. It was quite a surprise, but a very good surprise. I've been reading some of your other fic and it's making very excited to see what you come up with for the fic you're writing for me. I can't wait! Yay for Carson whumping! (Uh, does this mean I'm a sick individual? I'm cheering for injuries for my favorite character. LOL)

LOL! If you're sick, then we all are!

I'm still working on coming up with a good scenario for your story, but I have a few ideas in mind. I've never written Carson whump before, so this should be interesting and different for me. I'm working on two other fic-a-thon stories right now but I'm kind of stuck on both of those, so maybe I'll turn to yours for a while today.

Basic HTML is actually surprisingly simple. The browsers do most of the work. I've found that for me, the easiest way to learn HTML is to "view source" on a page, copy the code to a word-processing document and modify it. The only trouble with that is that a lot of websites, especially commercial websites (Livejournal, say) have insanely complicated HTML. Once you understand the basic HTML tags, though -- which is probably chapter 1 in the book -- you can do almost anything.

I do believe that a little tiny bit of HTML is useful for everyone to know. Just for formatting on message boards and such, if nothing else.

Sweet!! Now I'm even more excited!! And I really hope I don't sound like I'm being pushy. I don't mean to. I know you have a life and other fic that you're working on. It's just that I'm very excited about this. Thought I'd point that out in case you haven't figured it out yet. LOL ;-)

I'll try to stop being repetitive and redundant now. LOL
