Oh, and a question on the whole cliche list, since I know you had a a big hand in helping make the list.... why is 'rare parings' considered a cliche? That one stumps me.

Um ... I'm not sure? The list is sort of a consensus list from a number of different contributors. There are quite a few things on there that I didn't know about or wouldn't have considered cliches in the same sense as, say, tentacles or "magic healing cock". But everyone's list of cliches is a little bit different.
