[personal profile] candyheartsex signups close tomorrow! I was going to try to do it this year, but ... I just don't think it's a good idea. I'm starting to really need a break from exchanges, so I'm going to take a couple months off (aside from the ones I already have, which will be over when Festivids wraps up at the end of January) and then show up again when H/C-ex signups open in March.

Amperslash is still looking for two pinch hits! You can find the details here at the Amperslash comm.

• PH 3 - 镇魂 | Guardian (TV 2018) RPF, 镇魂 | Guardian (TV 2018), 镇魂 | Guardian - priest

• PH 9 - Fire Emblem: Soen no Kiseki/Akatsuki no Megami | Fire Emblem Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn, Honor Harrington Series - David Weber, The Goblin Emperor Series - Katherine Addison

If any of those sound like you might want to write them, the exchange has already had several delays and fingers crossed it'll be able to get them filled and open on time! I know there used to be some Guardian people around here; I don't know if anyone's still actively writing in it, or might be able to advertise the PH in Guardian-centric fandom spaces?

By this point, the current Amperslash reveals might just about coincide with next round's. :D

I'm reeeally surprised the Guardian one is a PH! It's the main ship! It's an easy one!

I wish I could take the pinch-hit - Guardian is still my main fandom! But I can't wrap my head around the concept of amperslash in this context, alas.

But I can advertise it on our comm!

This is a censored drama adaptation of a m/m novel, so if you took the censorship and ran with it, theoretically you could write it as intense smarmy gen. But a) capitulating to censorship doesn't feel great, and b) the only way it is censored is that there's no kissing/sex or explicitly named romance. Everything else is there, and very deliberately so. I don't think there's anyone who actually thinks there's any ambiguity about how they feel about each other. In addition, highlight for spoilers *the two main characters are in a time loop where the first time each of them meets the other, the other one is already in love with them, so you can't get around it by setting something early in their timeline either.*

I'm sure there are people who can write around that, but I can't.

I was wondering why this one was lingering too. Your explanation makes a lot of sense as to why people might look at it and go "but how?" Hopefully someone will find a way to make it work!

Haha, glad it makes sense!

Crossing my fingers for the pinch-hit, yeah. Surely there is a way!

Spoilers under details cut:

re: "the first time each of them meets the other, the other one is already in love with them, so you can't get around it"
But then you'd just set it from the POV of the character who just met them for the first time and is wondering about it, wouldn't you? (I don't mean you specifically, I mean if someone were to pick up this assignment it seems like setting it in literally any episode of the show where they feel like there's something more to it than friendship but not sure what that something is would work for this exchange.)

I don't know if this would work for the novel's canon since I've never read it, but just talking about the canon of the tv show which is amperslashy to the max from what I remember.

Maybe I'm taking the concept too seriously, but even when the POV character doesn't know the other character is in love, or where they're headed with the spoilery thing, the author and the reader both do, so it's not ambiguous to me at all.

(The novel is a completely different kettle of fish, but I'm not in that fandom.)
