One of the problems with being a spoilerphobe who loves fannish meta is that I see a lot of posts that look really interesting, but I don't want to click on them because they contain spoilers for something I haven't seen yet. So I make a mental note to come back and check it out later, after I've seen or read whatever's being spoiled ... and then, usually, I forget about it.

Back when Miller's Crossing came out, I remember someone made a long post comparing John's actions at the end of Miller's Crossing to one of the spoilery plot points in Dorothy Dunnett's Lymond Chronicles books. At the time, I remember thinking, "I really want to read this but I probably don't want to spoiler myself for the books in case I ever read them."

Well, I'm pretty sure that I've hit the point in the books that the meta-post was most likely talking about, so I want to go read it. Except that I can't remember who posted it. I've checked a few journals that I considered most likely to be the one, but it's not any of them. All I know is that it most likely came out during the first few days after Miller's Crossing aired, when fandom was doing a lot of go-'rounds analyzing John's actions in that episode. This would have been late 2007.

I know it's a total long shot, but does anyone remember this post?

It's always annoying when people comment to this sort of thing when they can't help (sorry), but I just want to say that you're awesome for remembering meta from so long ago, and I'll be tracking, because I want to red it too!

Heh! I don't mind. :D It's just unusual that this one *did* stick in my head, since usually they don't (which is certainly a good thing; I only have a finite number of brain cells, after all...)
