I really think the odds of Livejournal vanishing without notice are miniscule, and the odds of this journal being purged, hacked or deleted only slightly less so, but because you really never do know, on this or any other day -- if this LJ disappears and you still want to stay in touch, I also have a backup InsaneJournal that I created a year or two ago, when so many people left LJ. It's not being updated and it basically just exists as an emergency backup journal and a tool for participating in IJ discussions, but I'm friendshipper over there as well.

Also, if I *do* vanish for whatever reason, it's probably a safe bet that some combination of derry667, tipper_green, xparrot and/or naye either know what happened to me (hmm, that sounds incriminating) or can get in touch with me.

Yeah, I'm klostes over in IJ as well--I think. Might be nonniemous there. It's been a while since I set all that up--come to think of it, that was the last time there was an LJ-pocalypse. Hmmm...there just might be a cycle here, if we look hard enough to find it.

Heh, yeah, every time there's some kind of LJ meltdown I do the "scurry scurry, backup backup" thing ... and then forget about it. I've kinda kept my hand in IJ because for a while, I was participating in a few discussions over there -- though that's tapered off lately; it seems like a lot of the people who left are updating on LJ again.
