I'm mentally constructing my Yuletide assignment, which is getting rather complex and a little out of hand (I'm so surprised). I'm also working on Amperslash, but I may decide this isn't exactly what my recipient wants and start another fic, but we'll see. :D

Oh, and there's an epic crossover between the Biggles series and... other things. I'm currently wrestling with that and working out the finer details. I hesitate to call it plotting, as I'm a pantser through and through, but this one could fall apart like a house of cards if I let it run entirely amok.

I'm doing cheatin' NaNo with a linguistics space opera I started earlier this year in hopes of making progress - ideally a rough draft by the end of the month since it's under contract (the deadline's a few months off, but still!).

Also I'm 72 days into a cockamamie "100 days challenge" for a webcomic/animation trailer-MV thing. I am ignoring the official site thing because I'm a freelancer? I'm used to completing projects and setting goals? And they sure charge A LOT for their official whatever? But weirdly the stupid non-hack of a sticker/washi tape chart is motivating me to keep going on this thing. And obviously it's not going to be DONE in 100 days (ahahaha NOT EVEN CLOSE) but sort of trying to do something, however small, EVERY DAY is really fun. I will probably reboot to another 100 days afterward as I'm enjoying myself tremendously. So far I've done mini-studies of character design, color theory/psychology, character animation, etc. etc.

And my other thing I'm TRYING to do is get together a proposal for another MG novel, although I'll backburner that if my EDITS come in for YA book #2 lol.

Oh, and a mini-TTRPG game jam for a friend's birthday during November, which I have a concept for, so we'll see?!

My November plans, such as they are, seem to be "rereading long books full of vibes." I'm about 20% of the way into Moby Dick, and after that I'm contemplating a Dune reread...

It's being done in different ways by different people, but the original is basically just "each day in November, put on a podcast/song/audiobook/TV show and do a cleaning task that needs doing."

I'm mainly just going to try and get back in the saddle, writing-wise, but I definitely hope to do some meaningful Yuletide work. This may well include "research" in the form of consuming relevantly-themed media. (Or I may get sidetracked into something entirely different ... you never know! *g*)

As for decorating, I'm planning to get Christmas decoration up in the last week of November.

I put away my autumn decorations today and put up a few Christmas things. Last year I started decorating in early Nov. because I figured (accurately) that my mid-Nov surgery would make December decorating unlikely, and I ended up really enjoying having them around to look at a bit earlier than usual, so I didn't see any reason not to start early this year as well!

I have 3 (!) Sekrit Santa exchanges to do, so I use November to get them done. As well as the usual monthly things I like to participate in... sometimes I make 50K but I do MiniWriMo (on Live Journal) which is a low-pressure tracking...

Oh goodness, I had genuinely forgotten that NaNoWriMo is a thing! 👀
I had a shocking day at work today and am completely drained, but given the early reminder I might play catch-up tomorrow and at least try to achieve the 50K during November element of it, since I do have multiple things I want to frantically scribble (chiefly FiaB, Amperslash assignment/treats, and my AU Fest WIPs, which is reflected in my poll answers.)

I've also checked the clean your house in November challenge box, because whilst I don't know the specifics of the challenge, I certainly want to have a good clear-out and deep clean ahead of Christmas crafts.

I was away a LOT during October, so I'm really looking forward to November as a peaceful month at home catching up on writing and crafting 😊

That sounds like a really nice way to spend November; good luck! :) (There are a couple of links in the comments to the housecleaning challenge I was thinking of, though I believe there are some different ones. I'm approaching it from the perspective of "every day, clean one thing you've been procrastinating on" and hopefully that'll go well; I got my closet cleaned today, so - progress!)

Recovering from surgery, which means lots of TV shows to watch, books to read and no housework! :D

*stares at project list* I'd like to make some of these go away, so I might pick the low-hanging fruit first, with finishing Prompted 4, and the Day Care short that will complete First Comes Love, and there's that Fae Shifter Knights novella I've been promising, and I'd like to do No Probllama, but still have no hint whatsoever of a plot for that one. I don't know if I could manage to hit a 45k month with shorts, because they take more effort compared to their wordcount. But that's my goal!

What is "FIAB?" (I Googled "FIAB" and the top answer was: "A Factory in a Box (FIAB) is a rapidly deployable, remotely managed, modular manufacturing supply chain network enabled by industrial digital technologies." Subsequent answers included: "Furries in a Blender.")

I just received my

hlh_shortcuts assignment, so I will be putting my other hobby projects on hold until that one is all I can make it. In the highly unlikely but not impossible event that I finish it super early, I am minded to try doing something for Yuletide Madness -- that is, fill prompts that I know went unfilled in other events (the rules say that Madness doesn't require the fandom to have been nominated this year; you just have to have a strong and reasonable belief that the recipient wants the story).

On Saturday, I will replace my Halloween decorations with Thanksgiving decorations. On Black Friday, I will replace my Thanksgiving decorations with Christmas decorations... or at least my Advent wreath. Other decorations may take all month to put up completely, but that's okay; they can stay up through Epiphany.

I put away my fall decorations today and put up some Christmas decorations, because why not? Last year I started decorating early because I was having surgery in mid-November and (correctly) guessed that I wouldn't be able to decorate afterwards, and found that I really liked it - the season for Christmas decorations is *so* limited, I may as well enjoy it once my autumn feelings are over (and it's very definitely winter now ...).

Still just plodding away at stuff I’ve been working on for months, so I don’t think that counts as “frantically”... :-D

Working on the romance novel as and when I can grab time. I did briefly consider signing up for Yuletide, which I haven’t done since roughly 2010 or 2011, but right now my enthusiasm is elsewhere. Also nov/dec gets frantically busy around here on several fronts, work and the lead up to Christmas being the main two. I am working on chapter four right now and feel I could get to chapter six by the end of the year.

Busy two momths ahead!

I'm not doing NaNo, but it's my birthday on Nov 8, and like, I won't be doing anything for that either but hopefully I can cook myself something nice. Maybe do some baking before the cold fully sets in? I'm eying the cleaning challenge as well, and I have got to start a video game, I don't even care which at this point.

I do Mini-Wrimo, which is a write every day, minimum number of words (I always sign up with 100) challenge, with a daily prompt post to report wordcount on.

I *also* do Write Every Day, which makes November extra amusing. Thank you for hosting!

So, I checked the Yuletide box, but honestly, I don't know who I'm kidding. Not once in the 16 years I've done Yuletide have I ever actually started writing my fic more than two days before the due date. I always say I'm not going to do that, but the odds do not favor that plan.

I have the goal of writing one fic a week to post.
