I went to bed last night all fired up to get to writing the chapters I still need to write on the next Keeley book - and woke up with my head filled with a full-fledged plot for a Biggles fic in which EvS is ordered to honeypot him for blackmail purposes.

I would tick alternate, and it might work for you, but my experience with trying to do that is it goes "do a bit of the Assigned Task, then just switch to the fun thing and never look back."

Because (a) I want to read it, and (b) I find it's best to just get those fics that drop into your head fully formed out of your system as quickly as possible.
