Biggles Secret Santa?
I was kind of joking with
rachelmanija and
scioscribe about doing our own fic exchange in December by just writing for each other (and kind of not joking), but then I got to thinking, after FIAB more or less turned into a very successful mini-Biggles exchange within the bigger exchange ...
Are enough people interested to pull off an extremely last-minute Biggles Secret Santa?
I'm really tempted to do it if I have just three or four people in addition to myself, because it's not a fandom that has a large number of exclusive pairings, so I don't think it would be hard to match.
Given the short turnaround, I'm thinking it would be an *extremely* low minimum, similar to Chocolate Box or Trick or Treat - 300-500 words, so you absolutely COULD write something longer, but you would only have to write (and in return, would only be guaranteed) something short.
I don't want to overlap exactly with Yuletide, as that seems like a bad idea, so maybe either reveal a few days before Christmas (maybe the solstice?) or give everyone an extra week after Christmas and reveal on Jan. 1. Input welcome.
I've been running SSRC for enough years that I think I could pull this together fast and manage it competently. It WOULD be a really tight writing schedule, only about 3-4 weeks depending on when reveals are. But it would also be a low enough word-count minimum that it hopefully could be knocked out in an evening.
Give me your thoughts!

Edited to add: a New Year reveal probably works better for me, but I'll manage a pre-Christmas one if that's better for everyone else :)

I'm leaning strongly towards New Years; there's just so much going on around Christmas, whereas by that time things have settled down and it would be nice to have something new to read!

It might do! Currently my solicitors are in the midst of merging with another firm and the place I am moving to hasn't been converted from part of a school boarding house into a flat yet so I might end up with all my possessions divided between friends until Stuff is Sorted! If the worst comes to the worst, I'll have to borrow a laptop and sit in a coffee shop.
