Dear Id Pro Quo writer
Hello
idproquo creator! I expect you're here because our ids are a match, so I know I'll love whatever you make for me. ♥
For this exchange you literally cannot go too hurt/comforty, too tropey, or too angsty for me. On the other hand, I also really love emotionally restrained, plotty fic, slow emotional growth, understated expressions of affection, and emotionally charged, ambiguous relationships. Go wherever your heart takes you; I'm happy to be along for the ride.
I requested fic for my main gift, but would be very happy with art treats.
In all cases, feel free to include canonical pairings and other characters in the ensemble besides the requested ones.
Iddy things I love:
Enemies/antagonists to friends. Characters reluctantly working together and discovering hidden depths in the other person. Cautious overtures of tenderness. Developing affection. Witnessing the other character having nightmares or other trauma after-effects and learning about it that way. Characters being gentle with each other's damage (physical or emotional). Characters being all up in each other's space, especially if they're not actually a couple but are just That Weird about each other. Characters who love each other but are too emotionally repressed to admit it. Platonic bedsharing or sharing of other spaces (tents, hotel rooms, etc). Cuddling and gentle touching. Protectiveness. Characters getting badly hurt for someone else (taking a bullet, taking torture to spare them, etc) and the other character feeling terribly guilty about it and the first one not minding at all. Tortured together, or recovering afterwards. Trauma recovery. Fever, delirium, head injuries, generally being dazed and floppy and out of it. Sex pollen with a focus on taking care of each other's emotional and physical needs, during and/or after. Desperate worry. Presumed dead. Actually dead and then magically healed/fixed/rescued from the afterlife. Handcuffed together. Trapped together. Hiding injuries/illness, not believing they're worth saving or being taken care of. Overworking themselves while recovering from injury or illness, and relapsing. Learning to be loved and to believe they're worthy of love. Families of choice.
Do not want:
Death or terminal illness of requested characters (presumed death and/or miraculous healing is fine) except as otherwise stated in requests. Unrequested non-canon couples. Pregnancy, except canonical ones. Detailed descriptions of rape from the victim's POV (but recovery fic is fine). Dark or downer endings - even if very dark things happen in a fic, I'd like to end on a note of hope.

Enemies to allies, reluctant friends and/or lovers is my jam. In Carol and Yon-Rogg's case, there's an actual history of warm feelings and maybe even love, massively complicated by the fact that he was manipulating her the whole time; with Yon-Rogg and Talos, there's no actual personal enmity, just a whole lot of enmity due to their people being at war and oh by the way that thing where Yon-Rogg is complicit in the attempted genocide of Talos's people.
I think most of my requests are pretty straightforward from the tags. I'm equally good with platonic, romantic, or fuckbuddies (or any complicated middle ground you want to explore). For the Talos/Yon-Rogg variant, you can handle Soren however you like. I would have requested Soren/Talos/Yon-Rogg as well if it had been in the tagset, so I'd be fine with that version, or if open relationships are normal for Skrulls, or if she's just not mentioned. (On the other hand, Yon-Rogg interacting with her and/or their kid is very welcome if you're interested in writing that.)

I am an absolute sucker for Ward's slow crawl towards being a decent human being and rebuilding his relationship with Danny; sunshine Danny and gloomy, cynical Ward are a perfect odd-couple pair. And I always wished we'd seen Ward and Colleen bond more. They have so much in common, including their prickly exteriors, weird/abusive childhoods, both of them having been victims of the Hand, and of course their shared love for Danny.
I am, let's face it, always delighted with anything terrible happening to Ward, but I also love his protector/big-brother tendencies and enjoy seeing him as the caretaker, protector, or rescuer too, for either Danny or Colleen. Canon-typical Danny/Colleen is welcome.
Most of these are pretty straightforward iddy h/c tags - does what it says on the tag! For the ones that might require more explanation, see below.

I'm fine with any combination of canon pairings, poly, or gen for these characters. If you write Owen/Ianto, feel free to keep Jack/Ianto in the background. Owen/Tosh is another pairing I like. If you write a team fic, no need to focus on all team members equally as long as no one is bashed.
I'm totally fine with undead Owen (in fact, I really like him that way - so much angst!) but also completely on board with fixits. I love Owen and Ianto's warmer interactions in late season two and would love more of that. I just want everyone being happy and teamy and together forever. People reassuring Owen that he's still a valued member of the team after his undeath makes me happy, and I also love general undeath coping mechanisms, with the team finding ways for him to still enjoy some of the things he could enjoy before, through alien devices or improvised workarounds or just the team staying up with him watching movies so he doesn't have to be alone. I also love Owen doing doctor things and being in the comforter role.
I love weird Torchwood cases, so anything you want to do along those lines would be great!
Canon-specific DNW: Owen's undeath is fine, but I'd prefer to avoid any of the Exit Wounds/CoE deaths unless it's to fix them. Please no Gwen-bashing - it's okay to leave her out if you don't want to write her, just don't make a big deal about it.

I absolutely loved their slow climb from enmity to friendship, from Ashford trying to undermine her leadership to backing her up and defending her. I love that they clearly really love each other (that handclasp on the Tynan!), but in a very different way than, say, the found-family vibe on the Roci. They're just really sympatico once they get past the initial antagonism.
Most of these are various plotty and/or iddy ideas that could go in the post-season-3 to mid-season-4 period in canon, while they're trying to deal with Ring pirates, set up Medina Station, and generally adjust to working together. Feel free to handwave inconvenient canon details; they could go undercover to try to investigate Marco earlier, for example, and what do you MEAN there isn't a floating gladiatorial arena in orbit around Jupiter, or dream-sharing machinery in the Expanse universe? You can also make that time period longer than it was in canon.
Basically, I would love anything with these two gradually getting closer and learning to trust each other.
Spoilers for the most recent episodes are fine; you can assume that I have seen all the episodes but have not read the books. Ashford's death is an exception to my character death DNW; many of these requests would fix or ignore it, but it's fine if you don't.
Tags that might require some additional explanation:
A is B's handler - B doesn't fully trust A but needs to rely on them to survive anyway
Casefic: Undercover as a couple
In this case I was thinking one or both of them going undercover in Marco's group or in one of the other factions, perhaps trying to take down Marco or some organized Belter gang. It could also be some kind of sting to catch terrorists/pirates on Medina Station or Tycho or elsewhere in the Belt.
Alternate Universe - Space Setting with Magic
Character's superpowers are killing them
Shapeshifters in space
Werewolves - Pack Dynamics
I really love genre mash-ups, so feel free to take the Expanse Belt setting and add magic, mages, werewolves, anything along those lines! Urban fantasy IN SPACE would be fabulous. Their canonical power struggle actually works surprisingly well if you throw in werewolves. Or add non-canonical superpowers, maybe from science experiments or the protomolecule, or just generally.
Canonically dead character comes back as annoying ghost
Come on, imagine her FACE if Ashford ends up haunting her new ship, or maybe she captains the Tynan in the post-S5 period and finds out that Ashford comes with the ship. Honestly, she could really use the emotional support right now. I would absolutely love to see Camina, her new crew, and Ashford's ghost team up to take Marco down. Or just some little interludes with them. This could lead to some kind of fixit/resurrection scenario or not.
Fix-it - Last-minute rescue for character who died in canon before they die
Resurrection - One character rescues the other from the underworld/afterlife
Time travel - Character time travels to when friend/lover was their enemy; can't hide their fondness
I am ALWAYS here for a good death fixit, whether it's Camina swooping in at the last minute to save him from Marco, or figuring out a way to punch Death in the face until it gives him back (come on, if anyone can do it, she can), or time-traveling somehow.

Other tags I ran out of room to include; please feel free to use for inspiration:
