Music for your day

I recently (as of yesterday) discovered British folk singer Laura Marling through a cover of "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" over the end credits of my current fluffy brain-candy show, 9-1-1 Lone Star, which was so sublime that I had to look up who was singing it, and then I went and looked up everything she'd done and nabbed a bunch of songs off iTunes.

My favorite of her songs thus far is "Goodbye England, Covered in Snow":

And the Dylan cover that originally sucked me in:

And another one I really liked, "Rambling Man" (not the one you're thinking of):

She's great! My favourite song of hers is probably Devil's Resting Place (it has an amazing vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubdWPJSCbos). Her cover of Blues Run the Game is beautiful.

Wild Fire nearly sounds like a Dylan tune too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EUdZFcq-QE

We are addicted to 911 and 911 Lonestar -- not that they are brilliant but they are consistently entertaining.

Such a lovely voice, though the last one has now been blocked sadly, but I found it here: https://youtu.be/lj2Ioj0Amtw

British folk singer Laura Marling

I discovered her because she sings with Johnny Flynn on "The Water"!

(I recommend Johnny Flynn, too. I was sent "Lost and Found" and was haunted by it and then the full-blast ballad mash-up of "Sweet William, Part 2" sealed the deal. I also find "Barnacled Warship" curiously affirming to sing.)

911 is my current favorite show because I love the characters so so much. Didn't think there was any way they could pull it off again with Lone Star but they did and I'm in love with all of them, too.

Thanks for posting Laura's music, I'd been wondering who did that cover but hadn't gotten around to looking it up yet.
