hc_bingo is doing their February "postage stamp" cards again, which means you get 3 prompts + a wildcard square (prompt of your choice) and need to use them all in your fill. I got this:

WILD CARD	cuddling
CPR / rescue breathing	body image issues

Cuddling and CPR work great together! .... and then there's the other one ... which is not so thematically connected.

However, this made me start thinking about characters in my various fandoms and their likelihood of cuddling. (Leaving out the canonical couples; obviously cuddling is a given there.)

Jack-Peggy-Daniel triad - Aside from Peggy and Daniel in an actual relationship, these are not People Who Cuddle except under the most dire life-and-death circumstances. Nearly dying of hypothermia involves being briskly cuddled to health by Peggy and then dropped as soon as humanly possible.

Steve Harrington and Robin - OF COURSE THEY DO. It is impossible not to imagine them tangled up on the couch watching TV. Possibly with two or three middle schoolers draped over them as well.

Danny and Ward - Well, I'm sure Danny probably does, on the flimsiest of pretexts: he misses Colleen, Ward just casually mentioned some appallingly depressing fact about his childhood, etc. ("Get off, Danny, we're in public. God.") Also, traveling together very likely involves sharing beds/tents at some point and Ward invariably wakes up with Danny wrapped around him like human cling wrap.

The Guardians of the Galaxy - There is NO WAY they do not sleep in a big cuddle pile. The only one who might conceivably object to this is Peter, but this probably just results in Drax laying on him. (Rocket is the sort of personality who wouldn't do this if he were a human, but, counterpoint: he's a raccoon.)

Wiseguy - I would say no one on this show is the cuddling type if there wasn't literal, actual CANONICAL COUCH CUDDLING, so ... yeah. I expect camping with Vinnie inevitably results in waking up covered in sleeping Vinnie in much the same way as camping with Danny does.

FWIW, crosses my mind:
My understanding is that if you need CPR and maybe a defibrillator for real, the paramedics are going to rip/cut through your shirt and bra right there in public while they're saving your life, so that you can be around to be embarrassed by your body image issues later... and maybe be cuddled?

I kind of agree about the Guardians except I think it takes them a while to move towards this under many pretexts/total lies, and Peter is actually the one who is like ".....so when are we going to admit we're all a bunch of touch-starved losers and just, like. Invest in a custom couch."

I kind of want to write the 5-times fic that illustrates this process now.

Maybe thematically connected is the wrong word? I just mean, if you have to use all four prompts in one fic, they need to work together - they need to look like elements that could belong in the same story without shoehorning things in, in a "first he drowned and then he walked off a cliff" kind of way. And two of these go great together, while the third one, not so much.

No that's what I took from your context. It just didn't occur to me to do it which is weird because I DO that with the other bingo often.

Ha, yeah - I mean, a lot of this hinges around a) most of them just not really mapping easily onto our concepts of personal space and boundaries, and b) a combination of necessity and pretext and comfort-developing-over-time, plus all living together in a very small space.

I really feel like that fic needs to exist. :D
