Defenders relationship exchange
Now that I FINALLY have the brain to think about things other than novels for a bit, I have figured out what I'm doing for a Defenders-verse exchange that won't toe-step on the existing Tumblr-run one, and that's a relationship-based exchange, similar to Chocolate Box.
It would be open to all the Defenders-verse shows (Punisher included) and I'm going to use similar rules to SSRC - fanfic, art, or vids, a low minimum for both # of requests and word count. It would be open to both gen and ship relationships.
Tentative schedule:
Late Feb (after the ChocBox deadline) - tag nominations
Early March - signups/assignments
May - deadline
This would avoid overlapping the "busy times" of this and SSRC (which typically does signups/assignments in late March/early April, and has a June deadline). It would also avoid overlapping with the Tumblr exchange, which tends to run twice a year at mid-year and year's end.
I need a name for it! Any ideas? Thoughts/input?
A couple other things I'm considering:
- Leaving tag nominations open throughout the signup period, like the flash exchanges do. (I might also try this with SSRC this year.)
- It matches on relationship and not character, but you can mention that you're open to other options in the optional details. I tend to get a certain number of people in SSRC who just want anything Peggy, or anything Dottie, and that wouldn't be possible in this one, but you could (for example) ask for Jessica/Matt or Jessica & Malcolm, and also mention in your optional details that you are happy with anything at all Jessica-related if your creator has a different idea. That is, I wouldn't be requiring creators to stick to the requested relationship as long as it is clear that a) the the recipient would also welcome the other thing, and b) the creator doesn't have to create anything they didn't sign up for.
Name suggestions very welcomed. Something with New York in the name, maybe?

If you're matching on relationship, I guess if you have a large number of relationships per request (as Marvel Femslash did) you could go Jessica & Malcolm, Jessica & Trish...all the way through every Jessica relationship to get a Jessica focused fic easily enough!

.....the only NY-related thing I can think of is "In a New York minute," lol. Hmmm.

But yes, I'm totally in. Despite all the heartbreak. ;-)
