Short fiction in this year's Yuletide

At the Yuletide community, there's a list of short stories requested in this year's Yuletide that are available for reading online. Fun for browsing for short easy fandoms, or just finding new fiction to read.

A little earlier this month, I read one of them, Magic for Beginners, that I found absolutely addictive - a weird, trippy, complicated, slightly unsettling magical-realism story about fandom, getting addicted to a TV show, and finding your own inner hero that way, that never quite answers all the questions it raises (but probably wouldn't be as satisfying if it did).

That whole Kelly Link collection is pretty fabulous if you ever have the urge to read it. She's such a good writer.

I've always adored "Magic for Beginners," and I always wished I could have watched the TV show.

You should read Kelly Link's "Travels with the Snow Queen" or "The Girl Detective" next. Or "The Specialist's Hat" if you're in the mood for something eerie.

I still want to watch that TV show.
