Iron Fist related
Hi, I had a terrible thought I felt compelled to share, which is this:
It's canonically plausible and even likely that video exists of Harold abusing Ward. We know Harold had cameras everywhere, and while I don't think there's a point in the show when camera views are actually shown of Harold's penthouse (other than the approach to it), as a Came-Back-Wrong paranoid control freak, it's not unreasonable that he would've wanted it as a security measure, as blackmail material against the Hand or just a backup recording of events in case things went sideways. Or, heck, Harold being Harold, recording it on purpose to maintain control of Ward isn't unreasonable either. (I mean, by his standards.)
Which means those recordings could easily exist, and therefore, there are two possibilities I can think of for what happened to them:
- Ward deleted them himself, which means he knows they exist and probably had to spot-check the contents, or:
- They still exist on some hidden backup server of Harold's somewhere, and could be stumbled onto at any time by anyone.

Incidentally, I loved your Joy-related prompts in the Defenders fest last summer, and in fact have part written on one. They just vanished in a blizzard of other writing projects, but I do have intentions of dusting them off and finishing them! I really want to write more of Joy, and Joy and Ward reconnecting post-canon.

This is a beautiful marriage of comment and icon.

Which of them makes a better story?

(I especially like the people stumbling across it idea because I am a sucker for people finding out their friends' darkest moments. Everybody would then try to hug Ward and he would be so annoyed.)

YES. THIS. I mean, the possibilities are angstily fantastic, really, no matter who finds it: Joy stumbles across it and watches it in growing horror; an enemy finds it and threatens to release it on the internet for blackmail purposes; Danny sees a little of it and realizes things were worse than he ever imagined and Ward has to endure weeks of concerned hovering and random hugging ...

I might have to write this.

Yes, you do. And when you do, I'll have to (finally) watch the show. :)

I do actually have a vague recollection that I might have started something like that, or written a snippet of it as part of a commentfest, but now I can't remember when or where. I'll let you know if I find it!
