Hurt/Comfort Exchange letter
Thank you so much for writing for me! All requests are just to give you ideas; if you want to write something different, go for it. This fest is 100% relevant to my interests and I know that I will love whatever you write.
Likes: hurt/comfort of both the physical and emotional variety, angst, fluff, plotty fic, casefic, character studies, quiet bonding moments, platonic bedsharing and sleepovers, prickly/bantery comfort, characters gradually learning to like/love each other, AUs.
DNWs for this exchange: I would prefer not to receive h/c related to pregnancy, BDSM, or sexual trauma; hurt without comfort; extremely graphic descriptions of torture, maiming, or bodily functions (non-graphic is fine); A/B/O or "hurtcomfortverse/anodyne" AUs; or character death (though I'm 100% fine with death fake-outs or dealing with grief over canonical deaths). I like to have the comfort proportional to the hurt -- that is, heavy hurt is fine, but please give me some comfort to balance it!
You can also write me stories based on other tags in the tagset than the ones I requested, as long as they don't hit any of my DNWs. I could happily have chosen WAY more tropes than I did. If it helps, my very favorite h/c tropes tend to involve characters bonding/comforting each other over emotional trauma, being feverish/poisoned/woozy/out of it, or getting severely injured (bleeding, near death, actually thinking the other is dead, etc). However, as you can see from the tag selections, I'm into a wide variety of stuff.

Team in desperate peril together, or team taking care of a hurt Danny, would be entirely my cup of tea in this fandom. If you do the "all hurt" option, it's okay with me if only some of them are hurt (your choice), or if emotional distress/trauma/PTSD constitutes the hurt for some of the team. Having everyone work through the emotional fallout from thinking Matt was dead while in the middle of being imprisoned or interrogated would be fun. I love team bonding and puppy-pile scenarios and just generally the characters being a broken disaster family who bicker and argue, but are learning to love each other.
I also selected Matt and Danny because I really adore Matt and Danny's mentor-ish relationship and would love to see them trying to get out of a perilous situation together, or getting a chance to bond independent of the others. Here again, it's fine with me if it's physical hurt for both, physical for just one and emotional for the other one, or emotional hurt (nightmares/PTSD/etc) for both.
Given that this is a superhero universe where weird tech and magic is canon, I am all over magical and/or supervillain shenanigans. I selected some options like that from the tagset, but feel free to write something else along those lines. Maybe a supervillain or some kind of drug/device links them all so they experience each other's pain (emotional pain included - and they all have enough of THAT to go around!). Perhaps a villain traps them and forces one or more of them to go through an ordeal to earn the freedom of all. I'm really fond of "racing the clock" scenarios such as "this poison will kill your friend in X hours unless you get the antidote". I also really love the kind of scenario where everyone is hurt but in different, relatively complementary ways that require them to cooperate to get out, such as one character having to talk another through doing something in their own skill set because Character A has lost the use of their hands while Character B can't see, or the like.
I'd also be good with more toned-down emotional h/c, such as a team bonding session over drinks that turns into talking about trauma, or comforting each other with food after a mission gone bad, having sleepovers, that kind of thing. Just quietly taking comfort in each other's presence.

Sibling bonding and loyalty/affection is my jam, so anything that displays that side of Danny and Ward's relationship is awesome - worry, taking care of each other after they're hurt, emotional h/c such as bonding over their lousy childhoods/talking about their pasts, witnessing the other one having nightmares on their round-the-world road trip, throwing themselves in front of a bullet for the other, etc. With Ward in particular, I could also really go for physical h/c in which he's weak, feverish, or out of it, maybe hallucinating Harold trying to kill him again. It would also be interesting to see Ward get hurt badly enough to need heavy-duty painkillers but refuses to take them because he's afraid of getting addicted, so he has to suffer through it painkiller-free (with Danny's help - maybe Danny tries to inflict herbal remedies on him, or teach him to meditate).
As unfair as it seems to make Ward go through drug withdrawals AGAIN, I would be completely there for that. Or maybe Danny is the one who gets addicted to something this time? Maybe a villain tries to get one of them high for interrogation/blackmail, or inflicts an overdose in a murder attempt? Or it could be a magic drug with really weird side effects, like growing wings or spontaneously developing psychic/healing powers.
If you want to give either of them malaria or something along those lines (e.g. dengue fever) on their round-the-world road trip, I would love it. I'm also really into characters being presumed dead, scenarios in which one of them is imprisoned or tortured to extract information/cooperation from the other, "racing the clock" scenarios such as "this poison will kill your friend in X hours unless you get the antidote", and the like. The fact that they are probably now spending some time in high mountain areas lends itself to altitude sickness, which is tailor-made for h/c.
I would be totally into magic hijinks such as various forms of accidental life-force bonding, pain-sharing/nightmare-sharing, magic healing, etc.; I had never thought of "one of them accidentally getting their life force trapped in an object" before I saw it in the tagset, but that's a cool one. Feel free to look through the tagset for other ideas or write me something similar to that. Giving Ward superpowers or giving Danny some accidentally-acquired new power is also a scenario I would enjoy.
I really enjoy Ward grappling with guilt over his past, either in the normal way or because some kind of magical shenanigans force him to do things like live out scenarios of Danny dying in the mental hospital after Ward put him there (with eventual comfort from Danny, of course). Ward being in the caretaker role and being a caring/protective big brother (especially while choking down guilt over the way he treated Danny in season one) is also entirely my thing.
I would also be very much there for a quiet little fic in which they have hot cocoa and bond after waking up from nightmares, or that sort of thing. Just quietly taking comfort in each other's presence.

I like AUs in general, but in this fandom in particular I think it'd be fun! Frank as a hyperspace pilot whose implants cause him constant pain and/or other side effects, and David as his navigator? Frank as some sort of government science experience (building a better soldier?) who thinks of himself as a monster, finding acceptance with David and Sarah? I also like different/unusual soulmate AUs and platonic soulmates; maybe some/all of these characters are soulmates whose soulmate connection gives them some kind of healing/emotional-healing/pain-sharing abilities.
You can also feel free to look through the tagset for other hurt/comforty AU prompts, or give me other h/c scenarios in any kind of AU that you like -- urban fantasy, other space-opera or hard SF scenarios, one of them being a secret high-tech android, etc.
Canon-compliant h/c is also delightful! Strand them in the wilderness -- you could do it with Frank and David (a villain catches them and takes them to the middle of nowhere, maybe? or they crash while driving somewhere?), or perhaps David and Sarah are in a catastrophic plane/car crash and Frank has to find and rescue them. How about the classic "you have been poisoned by a villain and have X number of hours to live" scenario, with Frank stumbling to the Liebermans' doorstep? Or any sort of plot with Frank showing up hurt at the Liebermans', crashing a neighborhood barbecue while bleeding, etc. For extra iddy fun, give me all the angst with Frank thinking he's an unwelcome intruder and the Liebermans just wanting to know he's okay and making him feel welcome and not minding at all if he bleeds on their sofa.
But I'd also enjoy a scenario in which the tables are turned and Frank ends up in the rescuer/caretaker role, like the above suggestion with David and Sarah being in a car/plane crash and Frank setting out to find them, or David and Sarah being kidnapped and Frank going all action-hero to rescue them, or Sarah calling Frank because David's in the hospital and she felt he should know or just doesn't know what to do because she can't bear the thought of losing him again. Maybe David takes a bullet for Frank and Frank doesn't know how to emotionally cope with that.
Frank with amnesia would be really interesting! Maybe he vaguely knows he can trust David and/or Sarah but doesn't know why, or he ends up in a paranoid freakout and they have to find him?
Something with more low-key emotional comfort would also be lovely, such as characters cooking for each other or soothing each other's nightmares.

I fell in love with this weird, delightful show and its dysfunctional family of misfits. I love all seven siblings, so please, no character bashing of the core seven.
Given the siblings' canonically horrible childhoods, I would love anything that involves the characters as children or teenagers trying to help or support each other -- for example, sneaking food to each other when one child is deprived of food as a punishment, comforting each other after nightmares, tending each others' wounds after a training accident, sneaking out of the house and risking their father's wrath to let Klaus out of the mausoleum (there's no telling how often what we saw in flashbacks happened to him; it probably wasn't just once), cuddling with each other, etc.
Maybe a mission goes wrong and one of the children needs to be rescued; I can imagine a scenario in which their father writes off one of the kids and the others go behind his back, risking punishment, to save their sibling and bring them home. "All hurt" can simply refer to emotional h/c or their canonical horrible backstories, not necessarily that they all have to get hurt in the story (though the kids all being affected by area-affect attacks such as explosions or gas is also great).
Please note the characters don't have to be kids; I'm totally find with the adult versions! I'm really fond of "racing the clock" scenarios such as "this poison will kill your friend in X hours unless you get the antidote". I also really love the kind of scenario with pairs or groups where everyone is hurt but in different, relatively complementary ways that require them to cooperate to get out, such as one character having to talk another through doing something in their own skill set because Character A has lost the use of their hands while Character B can't see, or the like.
Luther absolutely breaks my heart, the way he tries so hard to be the leader/protector and thinks of himself as a monster. I would love to see Luther as the comfortee because he doesn't normally get that. I especially want Luther having his siblings accept him the way he is, learning to see himself as something other than a monster. (Incidentally, in addition to the selected Luther pairings, Diego & Luther is a combo that wasn't in the tagset, but I would love them together too.)
Vanya also deserves all the hugs and love, and I'd like to see her get some.
For Diego and Klaus, I love how Diego is a total pushover for his brother; despite all his grouchy prickliness and complaining, he never seems to be able to refuse a request from Klaus, whether it's giving him a ride or helping him ride out drug withdrawals. Platonic cuddling or hugging would be a delight with these two; I love the idea of Klaus draping himself all over Diego, who would complain but secretly enjoy it. Or maybe it's the other way around, with Diego giving Klaus a badly needed hug (again). Hurt/comfort of any kind, from tending wounds to talking about nightmares to providing comfort food, would be lovely with them. Perhaps Klaus helps Diego try to fix Mom, or tries to do it himself for Diego's sake? I would love to see Klaus try to do something sweet for his brother and mess up (being Klaus) only to have Diego appreciate it anyway.
I shipped Diego and Eudora hard, and I'm still broken up about her death. I would love a fixit of any sort: she survives her wounds (maybe with Diego thinking she's dead and then having a moment of discovery), Diego travels in time to save her or gets caught in a horrendous time loop in which she dies differently every time. (I don't absolutely require a happy ending for this one, since her death is canonical, but if she stays dead, please give him comfort from SOMEONE!)
I would also love pre-series fic with Diego going to her apartment after getting hurt doing his vigilante thing, and Eudora stitching him up or picking glass out of his back while griping at him for being an idiot. Feel free to go smutty if you like. Or maybe the two of them have to cooperate on one of her cases, or get caught/imperiled by villains and have to escape together. You can also give me any sort of standalone post-S1 h/c scenario in which Eudora is still alive for unexplained Reasons. (With time travel in play, I can happily accept a fic in which her death and the destruction of Earth have been resolved in some unexplained way.)

(Side note: it's totally fine if Meg and/or Sal are around too. I like all the canon pairings in these books. I'm also fine with Dekker being hurt too.)
Given that they spend most of their adult lives on a battleship canonically in the middle of a war, there are SO many things you could do to these characters related to that. Captured and tortured by Mazziani? Accidentally left behind on an abandoned space station when their ship has to pull out suddenly, possibly after being shot? Stranded in an escape pod, running out of air? (I'm sure that would do absolute wonders for Dekker's mental stability given his history; Ben trying to keep Dekker calm while Ben himself is dealing with the effects of having been shot or something might be really fun.) Knocked around and concussed from getting banged up when their rider bumps into something during release or docking? Caught in some kind of space explosion?
Or maybe just suffering from the cumulative long-term effects of fighting in a seemingly endless war, losing friends, constantly worried they're going to die. Dekker seems like he might paradoxically be able to deal with it better because he spends a lot of his time existing in the "now" of pilot-headspace (as long as he gets to fly, Dekker's pretty happy), but Ben is usually thinking five steps ahead and years of doing THAT in a war zone while getting increasingly, reluctantly attached to the people around him might really mess him up after awhile. I can totally see Ben having a slow breakdown while adamantly denying that he's having a breakdown and Dekker recognizing what's happening to him (due to being constantly one step away from a breakdown himself) but not really knowing what to do.
You could also go AU and put them in a different kind of space setting, e.g. they're trainee pilots (or pilot and navigator, or something) in a setting where piloting requires h/c-inducing drugs and implants.

Ward having to coach Danny through an addiction and withdrawal of his own—whether physical or magical—would be painful but fascinating.

So, er, if nobody writes it for you, can I request it from you?

In fact I'm halfway tempted to just drop it out of my requests and write it myself.
