Trick or Treat exchange letter
Trick or Treat exchange signups are open now! (So are signups for Spook Me, incidentally, which I also plan to sign up for as soon as I figure out what monsters to pick. :D
I'm not really doing a letter as such this year - all my requests are in the signup form - but I'm reproducing them here (now that I've got them finalized and stopped adding stuff) because I think it's fun to read other people's letters and see what other people I follow are asking for (and maybe this will encourage more people writing my fandoms to sign up XD). And this gets them conveniently all in one place for treating purposes too!
Agents of SHIELD
Medium: Fanfiction
Character: Glenn Talbot
I've always had a huge soft spot for Talbot (I blame Adrian Pasdar and his amazing eyelashes) but Season 5 made me fall for him in a major way ... and then took him away! Noooooo. Therefore, I would love fixits, canon divergences, or simply fic set earlier. I'd prefer to avoid the Graviton eps unless it's a fixit that involves getting rid of the gravitonium and getting him back to his normal self - irascible, flawed, but also moral and decent and brave. "I know you're my friend, and you'd never kidnap a little girl." THAT guy.
I asked for treats (instead of tricks) because canon left him in such a goddamn miserable place that I just want him to be alive and not completely broken, dammit. That being said, fic that gets dark or spooky is fine. I absolutely love seeing Talbot deal with weird shit in canon, so sticking him (ideally along with Coulson or May or one of the Bus kids, or whoever, but also just on his own) into a haunted house -- or a haunted spaceship! -- would be amazing. Or fic that deals plausibly with the dark stuff that happens to him in canon is good too. I just don't want a downer ending or anything that goes more depressing than canon (if that's possible).
My favorite Talbot relationships are Talbot & Coulson, and (increasingly in season 5) Talbot & Daisy - I love that he didn't for an instant think that she really shot him, and that both of them apologized to each other. I'm fine with Talbot/Coulson, though it isn't really a big ship for me, but I absolutely love their friendship and how it developed in Season 5. And I'd be delighted with Talbot/Coulson/May in some kind of S5 or post-S5 scenario - I think I actually ship the three of them more than just Talbot/Coulson. I'm also fine with Talbot's canon relationship with his wife.
Some prompts:
- A "5 things" type of fic with Talbot's changing views on Coulson or SHIELD over the years.
- A "5 things" on "reports Talbot had to write to his superiors about SHIELD" could be hilarious.
- Talbot's POV on one of SHIELD's ops (canonical or otherwise), or Talbot and Coulson having to manage a crisis together.
- Accidental baby acquisition (of a normal human baby or a superpowered/alien baby) in which Talbot turns out to be the one who's actually good at it, because of his son.
- BODYSWAP. Talbot is Daisy! Talbot is May! I don't think there's a character you could bodyswap him with that wouldn't be comedy gold, honestly.
- What's Framework!Talbot like? How would Talbot handle actually having to cope with the Framework?
- SHIELD comes back from the future earlier and saves him before Hydra has a chance to brainwash him.
- Talbot and Coulson are lost in the mountains for longer and have to seek shelter somewhere. It's such idfic catnip for me: hypothermia! Having to take care of each other! Coulson getting an up-close and personal look at Talbot's torture-related issues and brain damage without having other things to distract him! God, I would die for tropey h/c with these two - dragging each other out of frozen rivers, having a heart-to-heart in a Canadian Shack, etc.
- Talbot and Coulson's escape attempt zaps them somewhere other than the mountains, like they end up on an alien planet or way in the past or on a desert island or who knows what.
- More aftermath when they get back to the Zephyr/Lighthouse after being lost in the mountains. C'mon, he's a hypothermic, tortured, PTSD-ridden mess. SOMEONE GIVE HIM A HUG. I loved the scene with Coulson reassuring him in the woods, and the apology scene with him and Daisy. Maybe you could stretch out the timeline a bit so we get more of that kind of thing? Or just an aftermath scene when they first get him on the Zephyr, which we don't see in canon because the action had switched to Daisy's fight by that point?
- Finale fixits. Maybe Coulson takes the serum after all and gets through to Talbot; maybe Daisy manages to talk him down, perhaps using Coulson's impending death to break through to him, or finds a way to quake the gravitonium out of him. Or you could just skip straight to aftermath/recovery fic without going into the details of how he survived. I just want him to live and get help and support. Maybe he ends up in Tahiti with Coulson and May, and healing sex ensues.

Peggy & Jack & Daniel are my perennial AC triad (I ship them in all combos - Peggy/Daniel, Peggy/Jack, Jack/Daniel, Peggy/Daniel/Jack), but I also love them in a gen way and of course I'm fine with a gift featuring just one or two of them, giving the matching rules! Basically I just really love them and I'm fine with treats or tricks (e.g. weird Halloween-related SSR cases).
Some prompts:
- A weird SSR case around Halloween (investigating a haunted house or crashed alien spaceship?)
- While Jack is in a coma post-shooting, he finds himself wandering around as a ghost, able to see what's happening but not interact with it. (Sarcastic running commentary on Peggy & Daniel's relationship ftw!) Maybe he discovers something terrible is about to happen and has to figure out how to communicate with them to let them know?
- One of them acquires an accidental superpower. Telepathy! Healing! Flying! Shooting lasers from their eyes!
- I am all over any and all h/c, including mutual life-saving, getting trapped somewhere together, one of them being presumed dead, or just having to deal with someone who is shot, drugged, concussed, etc. Either action or post-mission patching up/recovery is delightful.

- Relationship negotiations are always fun (which relationship, exactly, is up to you).

- Future fic, anywhere between the 1940s and the present day - how do their lives go post-canon?
- A quiet evening at home, for whichever characters you like.
- Post-S2 recovery and aftermath for Jack. I can't get enough of it.
- General casefic: investigating something weird, a character being kidnapped, something to do with the mysteries left over from S2, basically any/all casefic is great!

My request-of-my-heart would be for Nakia & Ross or Shuri & Ross friendship. But if that's not something you want to make, that's good too! I love all the characters I requested.
- Nakia is amazing, her resourcefulness and pragmatism and courage; I would love to see her on a spy mission, dealing with some sort of problem related to Wakanda revealing itself to the world, interacting with other people in the MCU, having a nice vacation with T'Challa (possibly interrupted by attackers), or having some quiet time at home with her family. Backstory is good too.
- Shuri is a delight. I would love to see her inventing new tech (and roping random people into helping her test it!), or dealing with the ups and downs of running the "science outreach" part of T'Challa's new venture in Oakland, or doing things like accidentally inventing a dimension-jumping machine and zapping herself into an AU reality or some such thing. Her relationships with her family are lovely, especially T'Challa and her mom, and I would love to see more of that.
- I can't believe I fell so hard for Ross after being completely indifferent to him in CW. Yeah, he starts out a jerk, but I love that he's all-in on Wakanda after they save his life; I really adore that scene where he's bonding with Shuri by geeking out over her tech, and his and Nakia's mutual life-saving, and the way that he's totally fine with taking orders from a teenage girl. I'm a lot more interested in Ross + Wakanda than just Ross on his own, especially his friendships with the two other requested characters (or T'Challa, or Okoye - it might be neat to see those two have to deal with each other and develop a sort of mutual respect thing). I have a headcanon that he brings Shuri geeky things from the US and she reciprocates by doing things like showing him how to ride hoverbikes and taking away his phone and giving it back with modifications that make it do things like read his mind or shoot sonic cannon blasts. And just Ross discovering new things about Wakanda (preferably not being a clueless jerk about it) would be a lot of fun. I'd also love any sort of hurt/comforty scenario involving Ross and any of the others.
It's reasonable to assume that all three of these characters survived IW (at least, we don't know they didn't) so if you want to write post-IW fic with any combination of these people dealing with the post-apocalyptic world or trying to bring back T'Challa, I would enjoy that.
I don't ship any of these characters with each other, except that I'm fine with Nakia/Ross in a Nakia/T'Challa/Ross scenario. (That would actually be really fun if you want to do it!)
Any of the above should work fine as art prompts, but for additional art prompts, what about an AU scenario, such as the characters dressed up in 1920s Jazz Age clothes, or 30s/40s noir, or as werewolves, or college students, or florists, or space pirates? :D

I didn't request Jonathan as a character not because I don't love him as much as the others (I do!), but because I'd be happy with solo fic about either Steve or Nancy, but I prefer Jonathan in combination with at least one of the other two. That being said, Steve/Nancy/Jonathan is my main Stranger Things ship. I love them in a shippy way and I love them in a gen way. I also crave fic with canon Jonathan/Nancy plus Steve as their platonic friend who just pals around with them all the time. Or just a solo fic focused on Steve (with the kids maybe?) or Nancy (with Barb? her mom? her family? monster hunting on her own? the sole survivor of an apocalyptic disaster?).
I asked for treats or tricks because c'mon, it's Hawkins, weird creepy stuff happens to them all the time, and I'd be fine with something weird and creepy and dark. That being said, fluff is good too.

HELLBURNER CREW!! I love them all, Meg and Sal no less, but I decided to ask for the boys this time because I could use some more of these prickly assholes. Feel free to include the girls as well, or anybody else from their corner of the 'verse, e.g. Graff or Mallory - or cross them over with someone they haven't interacted with yet from one of the other books!
I think my fondness for Ben and Dek's kinda-sorta friendship is basically encapsulated by all those moments when they're about to go at each other's throats and Meg and/or Sal are tensed to pull them apart and then they just shrug and are like "w/e" and go to breakfast like it's no big deal, while the girls are left with a combination of bafflement and wanting to strangle them. They might not like each other half the time (or most of the time) but they GET each other, and I love it when those little moments of buried fondness and trust show up.
My prompts are going to mostly involve both of them since I assume that anyone offering one is probably offering the other, and also because of living and working together for years, writing one without the other might be hard. That being said, I am perfectly fine with fic focusing on just one of them; feel free to rework these prompts as individual ones!
I would be all over hurt/comfort with these characters, and with a war going on, there are any number of possible scenarios for that: they could be trapped somewhere, stranded in space or on a damaged station while running out of air, shot by boarders, press-ganged by Mazziani (or assigned to a Mazziani ship in the first place), taken to Cyteen for brainwashing, vanished and presumed dead until turning up alive again, or just having to deal with food/air shortages or illness or PTSD in space. I miiiiiight have a slight preference for Ben as the hurt/vulnerable one, just because it's so often the other way around in canon (I did love that one bit where Dek is lowkey panicking over Ben after the testing department shoots him up with drugs), but I'm fine either way, especially if they keep a certain amount of prickle. I mean, h/c or not, Ben and Dek bickering while running around a Mazziani-controlled space station trying not to get shot would be pure delight.
But in general, there are several decades of war to write about, plus another century or two after that, because they're spacers and between time dilation and rejuv, they're going to live a loooong time. Any little slice-of-life stuff during the war (just downtime on the ship, for example) or afterwards would be a lot of fun - what *do* they do after, anyway? Work on one of Mallory's riders? Retire someplace like Pell or some unexplored planet we haven't heard about in canon yet? Mentor the next generation of rider crews? Do they eventually meet hani or end up in some weird uncharted part of the universe?
Something spooky or Halloween-themed would also be great. Maybe they get stranded in between space like the characters in PORT ETERNITY, or they encounter a derelict ship and bring *something* back to the Norway (or wherever they are at the moment). For a lighter prompt, maybe they participate in a costume party for the first time on Pell!
I have never read a total AU with these characters and (if that's your cup of tea) I would be ALL OVER that. I mean, picture Ben as the Crankiest IT Tech Ever, and Dek as the guy who tries to fix his computer by hitting it with a stapler, while Meg is like former antifa or something who breaks the dress code all the time, and Mallory is their absolutely terrifying boss?
Shipwise, I'm fine with anything - I don't really want the canon couples to break up, but given the loose nature of their pair-bonding anyway, it's entirely plausible to have side Ben/Dekker (maybe as a drunken experiment they both regret ... or not?) or a threesome or an OT4.

HELLBURNER CREW!! I love them all, Meg and Sal no less, but I decided to ask for the boys this time because I could use some more of these prickly assholes. Feel free to include the girls as well, or anybody else from their corner of the 'verse, e.g. Graff or Mallory - or cross them over with someone they haven't interacted with yet from one of the other books!
I think my fondness for Ben and Dek's kinda-sorta friendship is basically encapsulated by all those moments when they're about to go at each other's throats and Meg and/or Sal are tensed to pull them apart and then they just shrug and are like "w/e" and go to breakfast like it's no big deal, while the girls are left with a combination of bafflement and wanting to strangle them. They might not like each other half the time (or most of the time) but they GET each other, and I love it when those little moments of buried fondness and trust show up.
My prompts are going to mostly involve both of them since I assume that anyone offering one is probably offering the other, and also because of living and working together for years, writing one without the other might be hard. That being said, I am perfectly fine with fic focusing on just one of them; feel free to rework these prompts as individual ones!
I would be all over hurt/comfort with these characters, and with a war going on, there are any number of possible scenarios for that: they could be trapped somewhere, stranded in space or on a damaged station while running out of air, shot by boarders, press-ganged by Mazziani (or assigned to a Mazziani ship in the first place), taken to Cyteen for brainwashing, vanished and presumed dead until turning up alive again, or just having to deal with food/air shortages or illness or PTSD in space. I miiiiiight have a slight preference for Ben as the hurt/vulnerable one, just because it's so often the other way around in canon (I did love that one bit where Dek is lowkey panicking over Ben after the testing department shoots him up with drugs), but I'm fine either way, especially if they keep a certain amount of prickle. I mean, h/c or not, Ben and Dek bickering while running around a Mazziani-controlled space station trying not to get shot would be pure delight.
But in general, there are several decades of war to write about, plus another century or two after that, because they're spacers and between time dilation and rejuv, they're going to live a loooong time. Any little slice-of-life stuff during the war (just downtime on the ship, for example) or afterwards would be a lot of fun - what *do* they do after, anyway? Work on one of Mallory's riders? Retire someplace like Pell or some unexplored planet we haven't heard about in canon yet? Mentor the next generation of rider crews? Do they eventually meet hani or end up in some weird uncharted part of the universe?
Something spooky or Halloween-themed would also be great. Maybe they get stranded in between space like the characters in PORT ETERNITY, or they encounter a derelict ship and bring *something* back to the Norway (or wherever they are at the moment). For a lighter prompt, maybe they participate in a costume party for the first time on Pell!
I have never read a total AU with these characters and (if that's your cup of tea) I would be ALL OVER that. I mean, picture Ben as the Crankiest IT Tech Ever, and Dek as the guy who tries to fix his computer by hitting it with a stapler, while Meg is like former antifa or something who breaks the dress code all the time, and Mallory is their absolutely terrifying boss?
Shipwise, I'm fine with anything - I don't really want the canon couples to break up, but given the loose nature of their pair-bonding anyway, it's entirely plausible to have side Ben/Dekker (maybe as a drunken experiment they both regret ... or not?) or a threesome or an OT4.
