\o?

Thanks to a brilliant joint production of [personal profile] xparrot (the original version) and [personal profile] slhuang (for a refinement that I liked better than anything I'd come up with) I think we've got our title:

Rogue Myths is still a contender, but I think this one scans better.

:D?

Carry on my wayward Kay, there'll be peace when you're-- oh who am I kidding :D

I like the title.

Yeah I think 'wayward' makes it seem more aware of SPN context than 'rogue', but I'm not sure that's a problem...

Supernatural was the first thing I thought of too. Not sure if that's a downside. Depends on how widely known Wayward Sisters is in the audience you're aiming for.

Up to a point, and I'd be super super careful about getting too close to that point. Could be an engagement point that leads to more sales, could lead to SPN fans subconsciously expecting it to be like the show we never got and not understanding why they're disappointed.

I like it, especially for the two-syllable rhythm, and FWIW I didn't immediately jump to SPN...but yeah, that is one concern? But it might be a feature rather than a bug, so...

That is gorgeous. I did also think of Wayward Sisters, but that might not be a bad thing. I might prefer Rogue Myths, but I honestly think it's more of a tossup now, both are good.

If you want the SPN associations, then this is great!

(Have you tried putting the series info at the bottom, though? It looks a bit awkward like this.)

I had to look up what the word Wayward had to do with SPN, and found that it's a proposed spin-off that didn't happen. I think anyone not involved in or close to SPN fandom is likely to also not have registered that. If it was actually airing, that would be different.

I try VERY HARD to have nothing to do with SPN but the "carry on my wayward son" is such an osmotic thing I can't avoid it XD but y'know, it definitely makes the monster-hunting an immediate association!

I find it easier to say than Rogue Myths too! And the swirly font looks good with it.

Ooooh, I like this a lot. Wayward Myths feels good in the mouth and is all around nice, in my opinion.

I quite like this, and while I did think of the song, it wasn't the first association I had, and I didn't think of SPN, but I'm old enough to have heard the song many times in many contexts before the show ever used it. My first association was actually a rupture of mythic creatures, powers, and narratives into "mundane reality," which is the foundation of all non-secondary world urban fantasy. It's one of those titles that seems so obvious to be applied to an urban fantasy, yet I don't recall anyone ever having done so, and it immediately attracts me for both those reasons. I like the look of Rogue Myths slightly better for idiosyncratic reasons, and I do wish there was a better tie-in to the sword, but that's me, and there is a tie-in to the idea of a gatekeeper "sorting" the myths out, which I like, if it applies. I agree with those suggesting putting the series title and volume number below the book title.
