sheron just watched CA: Civil War and is looking for Tony-focused fics (Steve & Tony, preferably) that deal with the fallout from the movie and AREN'T terribly skewed towards one character or the other.
(As the entire fandom tends to be post-CW, thus missing the point of the movie entirely.) She's okay with Steve/Tony if that's the only way to get the feels, but prefers gen friendship fic for these characters.
I am completely unhelpful since I haven't read anything in this fandom in over a year, but I offered to ask, since I know there are people hereabouts who are still in Avengers fandom. Anyone seen any good post-CW fic around?

ETA: According to Cap/Iron Man chat, this is a good list (which helpfully links to nothing!)

MCU CW recs, mostly Tony focused
The lingering remainders: in which Tony Stark post CW runs into one of Peggy Carter's old mates who provides some perspective. No, not that one.
Wear your momentum: in which Pepper shows up post CW, and the story manages to be both entirely IC for both parties and yet amazingly unangsty.
Maybe not soon: ensemble collection of post CW scenes.
Readjust: Tony and Rhodey post CW. Fantastic portrait of their friendship.
Errata: or, five times that Tony Stark was wrong (and one time he thought he was right): what the title says.
Re: MCU CW recs, mostly Tony focused
I also found Causality, Catastrophe, and Consequences which is sans bashing and hits a lot of my buttons.

I can't remember very well but this one might have a bit of "Steve is Bad and He Should Feel Bad", but overall it's alright, and if you treat that as Tony's POV on the situation it works.

Starts with Steve POV but overall has alternating Steve & Tony POVs; tagged Steve/Tony in addition to Steve & Tony, but let's say that falls closer to what used to be called pre-slash. I don't remember the specifics of what happens in the fic, read it a while ago, but I loved it, and post CW I didn't like many fics that were too one-sided.

But for shorter fics, I would rec L'esprit L'escalier by
Other than those, and the Steve/Tony fic recced above, my favorite post CW fics have been either Steve/Bucky or Sam/Bucky, none of them glorifying Steve's "side" of the divide. If you are open, I would love to make a case for them, because god they are SO GOOD (and the one of them that does have Tony in it has a good Tony.)

It's hard to put this rec into words - I read this fic and couldn't shake it off for days. It's Steve/Bucky, but it's an epic, plotty character study more than anything, the kind where you can call it either slash or gen, however you prefer. When I finished it I was like, shit, this is a masterpiece and should be a fandom classic, like, yesterday. But its optics are bad: it has a bad summary. It's written in first person POV. It's 47 chapters that make up 200k words, that were posted over the course of six weeks, less than two months after the movie came out. Each of these elements separately are a badfic warning sign for a lot of people, let alone combined - when I was looking for post CW fic, I scrolled past it multiple times, nope-ing away just from a cursory glance, and I wouldn't have read it if a friend hadn't recced it to me. But I am so glad I did.
This story is about Bucky Barnes, and who he is, and how much the life of Captain America is worth. It's about Barnes and Sam and Steve on a
road tripjourney, on the run from a legit evil comicbook supervillain. To quote the author's note, This really isn't a feels fic, but it's not entirely action either. It's violent as hell, but it's also about a man trying to reclaim his identity in the midst of seemingly never ending chaos. Almost everyone makes really terrible decisions, innocent people are murdered, and nobody's forgiven for past misdeeds. The first part is 1st person Bucky POV, and the second is Steve 1st person, and even if you're not usually into that, give it a shot. (By the way, friends of mine who read it didn't all agree with, in particular, Steve's characterization, but all thought it was worth the read.)
Basically this fic is feelings + a punch in the gut. If you read it, I hope you enjoy :-)
