This is actually not for Cap fandom at all; I'm writing series of historical murder mysteries set in 1930s Chicago. (Although the research overlaps remarkably well with some of the stuff I've been writing for MCU!) But yeah, writing historical stuff ... I keep really wanting to use various slang or turns of phrase, and then finding out they came from movies or books that came out much later.

I need to read more Martha Wells. I've only read a couple of her books so far and enjoyed them, but not in a "gotta pick up all the others by that author" kind of way; still, more of her books are on my to-check-out list.
