You know, I just realized all this time I've been interpreting one of Arnaud's comments to Darien while he was explaining his evil plan as flat out stating he designed the gland to cause violence in the user ("You can't resist, believe me, I know; I helped design it that way... Terrorism is the currency of the 21st century, and quicksilver will corner the market. I can sell the gland to as many zealots as I want, and their violence begets more buyers"), but I guess he doesn't technically come out and say that, does he? He could just be referring to the violence of terrorism in general, not specifically the effects of the gland. Huh.

...I think I'm still going to continue on thinking it was intentional, though, because I like that a lot better than the idea that it really is Darien's id shining through!
