I just realized that I only mentioned this at my real-name LJ, but I'm on Twitter now, as Layla_in_Alaska. Thus far, I'm finding it a good dumping place for links that I would normally leave sitting open in tabs while intending to collect into an LJ post, and then eventually give up, quit my browser and start fresh. *g* Do you want to follow me? Shall I follow YOU? Do you have any interesting people to suggest I should follow? So far, I've been randomly adding LJ friends and people (mostly sci-fi writers) who seem like they post interesting stuff.

I am tessercat over there, as here. My SFF crew includes (leaving off the @): crossedgenres, sandykidd, metafrantic, followthelede, CherylMorgan, nkjemisin, scalzi, and a bunch of others that are mixed in with my TOPoli follows, so I forget who right now.

I backed off from following scalzi because he seems to tweet ALL THE TIME - which is great if you want to spend all day on Twitter, but I'd rather keep it manageable enough that I can check it a couple times a day and call it good. At least ... that's the plan. :D

Yeeeeaaah. The volume of tweets from some people can make tweetstreams unmanageable. But lists are great for those people you want to check in on sometimes, but not constantly.

sandykidd is Kay Holt, and metafrantic is Bart Leib -- the co-owners/editors of CGP. :)

Neil deGrasse Tyson ‏ is on Twitter as @neiltyson, and this is pretty much the happiest thing ever. (I also recommend @NASA_SDO, the Solar Dynamics Observatory, for really beautiful sun pictures.)

I'm on as @magistrate, for my personal account. (I mostly grouse about things, talk about my cats, and retweet other people being cleverer than me, though.) (I also have a professional account which gets even less use.)

I second @nkjemisin, and add @KameronHurley, @NisiShawl and @Nnedi.

Thank you for the suggestions! I expect my twittering will probably be like my Tumblring (tumbling?) - extremely intermittent and erratic. Which kinda describes my blogging too, I guess ...
