Y'know, I'm pretty sure one of the reasons I friended you was so I could find out what it's like living somewhere like Fairbanks. It's the logistics of living somewhere as vast and as remote as Alaska that fascinates me. Town/city living must be different and how you all cope with the dark and the cold in winter and how you get fresh foodstuff like vegetables and how expensive things must be that require supplies from "outside". Have you written about this earlier in your LJ because if so, I'd really like to learn more about Fairbanks :) Just for interest :)
